  1. Smart Casual, works great Turn up looking like Rambo is likely to put him off the idea 'rapidly'! Don't overdo the aftershave or deoderant either!
  2. Nice work Mike Parts you hold dear Usually its the female tthat get to hold em
  3. Lem-Spitzer moulds? I only know one person who had one, not quite pellets (more air bullets) accuracy in his titan was resonable but the moulds are few and far between, I'm still waiting for him to send me some home cast pellets to try in my baby Tony
  4. Glad to hear it And it goes to show that some of us know what we are talking about Looking forward to your first write-ups and pix Go get em boy Tony
  5. I've done enough autopsies on bunnies etc to know what I can get away with at long (just short of 70yards) with my .22 I wouldn't try to take the same shot with my springer though! Tony
  6. what makes you say that Craig my pal (apart from the number of post)?
  7. Carefull bud, you will get slated for that kind of yardage by those less capable T
  8. Fair old few maggies in the cemy and paddocks! If it hadn't have been for the mother visiting her son's grave, I would have taken the maggie on the headstone (Mrs G's kitchen window behind it in the unlikely event I missed) and Woodworm1972 would have taken the female that was on the ground. Both were absolutely spot on Zero at 30 yards! Alas by the time she had finished and put the fresh flowers down, both maggies had fecked off. Grrrrrrr!

  10. Depends on what white coat you listen to 3 to 4 ft/lbs will enter the skull of a bunny/penatrate the lungs and heart But some studies suggest that as little as point 4ft/lbs will deliver enough shock to the CNS of a bunny to kill it, although this is enough to cause bruise on a human, it will not penatrate the furr/skin/muscle and bone of a bunny. Also a Hare (for example) appears to have a thinner cranium than that of a bunny, despite being a much larger animal. Tony
  11. Nice work Daz, It's a shame the birds belong to the corvid family really, I think they re lovely The only Jay I have ever seen was when Si,Lj and myself visited the "Sidings" in Germany! They are very rare around my parts, but in plentifull stocks in other areas Again nice work. Tony
  12. First image looks great What pistol is that in he last? Tony
  13. Who you talking about bud? have I missed a post? Tony
  14. Already made plans for next visit Daz I shall make sure the laps are charged
  15. Indeed! A 10ft/lbs can lob a pellet well over 400 yards! Now imagine the scene! You roll up to the range, its a special range indoors with constant temp and none existant air flow. Your targets are paper at 15 yards, 25, 35 45 and 50 yards. Your scope is at 10 mag and you've done your homework and carried out your scope, pellet and gun calibration at 10x You are a competant shooter and you take out every bull in the target. Not a single miss, now you take a break, you go outside, it's calm very tiny breeze and a bunny appears at 50 yards would you, bearing in mind that you have ju
  16. Really chuffed someone more knowlagable (sp?) than I has joined in the thread
  17. As far as I am aware, the law is pretty much the same, apart from you needing to have your rifle on FAC. I am not aware of any other differances, but I am always open to correction Tony
  18. You can get permission at any age, but to use the rifle without supervision is now 14 years of age. Tony
  19. You let some fecker build a bridge across the Tamar and let in the masses and the k'ing government! Should have stayed as an Island
  20. Not had a Hawk land on the rifle, but had one take a bird from the back garden one day when I was in the shed. Also had an Owl land on a small creature right in front of us one morning as a friend and I were out doing a slow recce of this are for hotspots. I was also telling Woodworm1972 the other day about the Robins that I have around me when shooting in the Cemy and the Robin and the headstone incident I put up here. I also have the ones in Bunnyland that do come and perch on the rifle. not the size of a Hawk, but just as pretty in their own way Tony
  21. I've never stood on one, just brought it up out the sea and grabbed it with my hand. Wasn't long before my little boy arm was fatter than my fathers! Cambourne eh, lovely place, my brother lives in Penryn with his family and a rather beautiful Doctor I used to work with has recently moved back to the Cambourne area. Regarding guns on busses, I used to travel by bus to the rifle range in Hull when I lived in Brough. They never batted an eyelid, and as long as they were kept in the slips they couldn't do anything! Remember bringing my XS-19 back from Leeds by rail Just about every on
  22. Gutted!!! Both that Mike is finally offkies and also that I can't make it down there When is he leaving Davy? Tony
  23. Nothing to add really is there? I know people who can take long shots and I know people who can not hit a barn door if they were sat the latch! Si has a lot more skill with rifles than most folk on here, as indeed does Davy, Darryl and Gary, Simon, Andy and a lot of others here. Some have the confidance to make use of the rifle's accuracy, their skill and judgement of prevailing winds and know when a bird or animal is relaxed enough that it is settled and feels safe enough not to go moving off. Well done Si, very well done. Tony
