S300 noisy trigger mechanism?
Phantom replied to Woodworm1972's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Craig, I agree it certainly is noisey, I was a couple of meters away and it seemed loud. It also seemed to have erm like an echo to it that I thought was made or amplified by the aircylinder (empty and hollow). Of course the 300 is a totally differing design to the 200 so I don't have a clue. Tony -

True regarding the pellet price but as you say, better shot count and the Mildots line up better on a .22 (in my own humble opinion) 10.39 ft/lbs 30 yard zero puts the mildots at 5 yard increments at 11 mag True also But the PCP also has a soul and that soul needs to be replenished by taking the soul of as many critters as you can point it at

A day on the ranges shooting the bigger guns
Phantom replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Too much net porn, his keys are a tad sticky  nah it was the pic of you cuddling that lovely S200 You should see her in the new all in one she's wearing these days, propper figure hugger and far sexier than that bikini she used to wear  It's good to find someone else here lately that shares my sense of humour Tony -
Possibly wear and tear on the teeth of the magazine, or possibly the bolt not being pulled back as far as it will go (just an idea, so please don't take offense!). If you know anyone local to you with a magazine for same, ask to try that. It may just be wear and tear. One problem that most of us multishot pistol (Umarex shooters) come up against is that the indexing can be lapse if there is any kind of muck, fluff or whatever on the teeth of the magazine can and does does muck it up, leading to misfeed problems. Also we often just pop a drop of oil on the indexing pawl. This in itself can h

Bung a pic up of the magazine for us. There are the genuine AA ones that cycle the mag and there are the 'Manual' ones that you turn yourself before pushing the bolt forward to load the next round. Tony

No forget the Darkside! Come join us on the pure white side with the S200 in .22

Well the Combro is the one I was talking about at £40, But if you've got the brass, the Skan is supposed to be the benchmark, but I've not got a clue as to the price of those! I can say though, that they wont be cheap, I think the F1 is a middle to high end job for airgun enthusiasts. They are also found in a great deal of clubs. Tony

LOL A friend of mine on here just got himself a brand spanking new "Brocock" Stirrup Pump on eBay for £ Hills Seem to be the manufacturer of most of the pumps out there and you can pay as much as £200+ depending on the badge thats stuck onto the front of the column! (my Hills Pump is coloured yellow and has a BSA badge on the front but was still made in Sheffield by Earnest Hill ltd). http://www.airriflepump.com/ Check out Ebay, see if you can get that kinda bargain for yourself. Or keep you eyes open in the sales section Tony

AWSOME!!! Si It's a shame the range was all shut up when I stayed with you and Lj in Germany, would have been great to try my skill against you. You have taught me so much and given me the confidance to push the envelope of a sub12 with long range shots, it would have been an honour for me to have your instruction on the LF range Tony -

Hi again Frank, I couldn't remember but I stuck the power as 10.39 into CGP for my aim points with the scope I fitted last Friday (but I also forgot to take into account the extra quater of an inch between the centre of the bore and the centre of the scope ) Ive just run a quick 10 string through th Combro using CPUM's at 14.4 grain. Heres what the Combro and Laptop said: C / PC 1 574 575 2 573 575 3 570 572 4 568 570 5 566 568 6 565 566 7 665 566 8 571 572 9 565 566 10 570 573 These figures are rounded down, some of the laptop figur

Another 5shot group with the refurbished TX200
Phantom replied to Marksman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Darryl, you do yourself an injustice my friend We all know that a modern rifle, air or otherwise will out perform the shooter This means that the shooter is the the weakest link in the firing cycle If you were not such a good marksman (How very apt for your screen name eh?) that group would be miles apart. I have witnessed you take out a small chicken egg at 100 yards last year in a breeze! Some people claim that what you have done can not be achieved, but you and I and many others know different Well done on both the refurb job and your excellent marksmanship To -
I need to buy a Skan or even an F1?
-
I'm not too sure about the Combro Frank Supposed to be accurate, but when I run the unit through my laptop (via the serial cable) the FPS shown on the display is not the same (not even close) to the figure shown on the computer, so I'm playing safe! Maybe thats why I missed that LR bunny the other night Tony

What rifle is it?
-
What exactly is a "Magnum" air gun? All rifles (magnum or not) need to have less than 12 ft/lbs muzzle energy for them to be legal without requiring a Fire Arms Certificate in England, Scotland and Wales. So it all depends on which rifle you feel is the best for you Tony

A friend of mine recently purchased an S300 from an RFD. Took it to the club for testing, it was running at 19ft/lbs. He has had a very lucky escape it's now got a standard hammer spring and has been dropped to 11 ft/lbs via the screw. If the Police had gotten it as he walked out of the shop, he'd now have a criminal record! Just like I got for a 13.04 ft/lbs rifle. A fire arms offence really fucks up the career prospects! The Police don't care if it's only running at 11.75 with AAF's Tony
