I have often taken a shot through a rabbits eye, as Si say's Archie is an excellent Marksman and without wishing to blow my own trumpet to loudly, so am I However I have never and I am sure that any quality Marksman including Archie has never aimed at an eye directly side on that would be just plain stupid and just damn wrong As Si mentioned this bunny would be at an angle rather than parallel to Archies gun I agree with what you say there about teaching new shooters exactly where to shoot We of course were all new once, and now most of us experianced

    Griff, Your post emphasises what I and a few others always say. Allways check your zero before you go at live quarry, even if its only a couple or five shots at a stone on the ground at your chosen zero range then if your missing you can take steps to rectify the problem and hopefully you'll not come back with an empty bag and feeling frustrated I do this as a matter of course, for a couple of reasons: 1 somedays I can't shoot right if I'm grouping 10 shots over an inch I come home and try again another day! 2 somedays, the rifle may be playing up; I had a loose bolt on the s

    My pleasure, I've got a full detailed article about it, but it uses human targets as the standard way to do it and hight velocity 5.56 and 7.62mm rounds Its not getting the range wrong, its getting the size of the bunny wrong, this as you correctly say can lead to a miscalculation in range and as you say may cause a wounding rather than a clean kill or more likely a clean overshoot of the bunny, alerting them to your presence and making em scarper while giving you the scutt Phantom

    I had to was all my hunting gear today two full cycles in the washer with no detergent or softner I know bunnies can whiff a human at 100 yards, but after the way they scattered in the cemy yesterday, I figured me and my kit was a little overpowering for their delicate little noses Was hoping to go shooting tomorrow myself in the new permission and bag a corvid or two but a mate range me and apparently I'm to go fishing with him tomorrow I like a days fishing now and again, but I'd rather be shooting Phantom
