  1. However if you shoot a bunny in the spine and miss with a .177 it will wound and leg it. Same shot with a .22 and the slower and larger projectile will transfere more of / all its KE and bunny will go down We can argue the merits and demerits of each cal for ever, so you should pick one and master that No need to be confused at all, its entirely down to your preferance I have (at the moment) only one .177 rifle and four .22's that does not mean that .22's are a better choice though My pistols are all .177 Phantom
  2. Sooooo Coool Ron Bet your happier than a happy thing with the laughing gas Well done buddy. Phantom

  4. Thanks Wurz, Its sinking in slowly, I've been in touch with her husband and children. Jan touched the lives of so many people both here in the UK and over in the States. She was a collage teacher of English and taught thousands. Her favourite country was England and her real passion was Shakespeare. She will be missed. Tony
  5. Nice one Stealthy Good read, I must be the odd one out though My phrase is "Stay there Carter you scumbag" Its the only way I can pull the trigger on such a cute animal I have to imagine one of the scumbags that I used to deal with at work and suddenly the bunnies a target lol Phantom
  6. Don't be a wuss (revenge) I got 5 hours train ride But I do sympathise with having to drive that long in your condition Phantom

  10. Excellent looking hide there buddy You can get started either way, the only time I dont take a gun is when I'm asking for permission! Stalk around the hedges or stay in the hide. If you can find them look for the warrens and wait half an hour or so about 25 to 30 yards until they stick their noses out, wait until they get a yard or so away from the entrabce though before given them their free lead suplements Phantom
  11. Pass Stealthy it wan't full I did get two from you though Welcome aboard Phantom
  12. Nice going Sp for admitting the cock up on an open forum and despatching quickly I've seen the same thing happen luckil not by me, but I've had the odd cock up as well. Phantom
  13. There are a few .20 and indeed .25's but they are mainly used in the US where there is a more varied selectio of both rifles and pellets. The Sheridan Silver Streak isn't that the one that put the cap on our legal limit? It could be pumped up to decent working FT/LBS and the British manufacturers couldn't compete so they asked the Government to limit the legal limit because they were affraid that the US manufacturers would take over the Market? I'm sure I read that somewhere a couple of years ago. Bumb Ass British! Phantom
  14. I did 7 hours on my belly clearing a warren in the cemetery last winter and yes it was in the snow I'm sick of clearing that same fecking warren! Clear it of bunnies one day, a few days later another mob of the little sods are in gnawing on the bones Your right about the lil ones being a bit retarded about noticing danger, but they do learn quick if you miss Phantom
  15. Well done to you both, especially getting up close and personal with the woodies I'm lucky if I get withing 50 yards before they wing it SPA Phnatom
  16. Well I guess its only 4 days now You'll have to excuse my lack of enthusiasm today though I awoke to the news that a friend of mine over in New Orleans died last night of a blood clot that made its way to her Lungs This happened after recently being allowed home after having surgery for Cerivcal Cancer. Jan was not a hunter; but she was quite a shot when it came to pistols both cartridge, Air and Co2. My heart and thoughts go out to Jim her husband, Holly and Nathanial her children. Rest In Peace Jan McArthur Tony
  17. Cant be bothered to type out my own answer (Got a washing machine to fix), so "all of what you guy's said above" Phantom
  18. JD was a great Hunter who knew his stuff I have all his films on DVD and have learned such a lot from him. But the "Feather & Fur" argument is really a no go as both will do the same job. Its nore a case of ".177 for Field Target" as you only need one aim point from something like 8 to 45 yards. But if your a genuine Marksman, you can knock over the targets no matter what the calibre. Phantom
  19. Just imagine Wurz bent over doing the old "I'm not worthy" routine And kissing Si's boots first left then right , Then taking posession of one of the finest pieces of kit going, I canney wait til Friday Phantom
