  2. Me and my brother went up to my grandparents again for the day, and took the rifles "just in case" anything turned up Was really windy, but a pigeon did land in the tree, we both "snuck" out with the rifles, and my brother successfully missed totally He goes back inside muttering, and as i wait around to empty the rifle another pigeon lands in one of the trees. I take the shot and down it falls, "clean headshot" i think all going good so far until i go to collect it and see a bird running around on the floor. "S**t" i think and start going after it to finish it off, wondering how id me

  4. thanks markha will need to get a better gun cupboard i think. just one more thing, as i understand it im ok to use the rifle on my own on private land, but i need it to be out of sight in the car on public roads right? thanks again

  7. havent posted for a while so firstly hi again everyone im back with the same old question really, how do i get permission to shoot over farms? ive already got one but its a long way from my house so i cant go often, and there are lots of other people shooting there so its fairly empty of quarry. ive found a few farms closer to me so im thinking of going over tomorrow but not really sure how to ask them. was thinking of having some letters with my details in case they are out, and maybe mentioning the other permission to show i can be trusted. any other ideas? im 16 btw so not sure how ser
  8. hey I can see what people are saying about cheap rifles being a bad option for hunting, but im guessing im not the only person who ended up going for one because of a lack of money. I have found so far that as long as i stay within a range that i am comfortable with, even if that means not taking "easy" shots due to the range issues, then my cometa rifle has done fine (that said, can't wait to be able to afford a better gun) just my opinion, for what its worth chris
  9. thanks everyone decoys came today wont be out for a bit caus of school exams, but when i do ill get some pics thanks again
  10. thanks ive got a few streams on the permission so ill look out for them there
  11. Thanks both will be trying that out another question, ive been seeing loads less pigeons flying recently, do things like low cloud and cold cause this? thanks again
  12. Thanks I went for the use the time for preparation idea so hopefully when the other decoys come i'll be all ready to go out and shoot Thanks again
  13. I have been shooting with my air rifle for a while now and wanted to try decoying. I ordered 6 online but they wont be here for a week or two and being impatient I went and bought three decoys from a shop near me. I got 2 sillosocks, 1 head down and 1 up, and a plastic shell. Will this be enough for the pigeons, and if so how should I arrange them? Thanks, Chris
  14. hi ive got one of these its fine for pigeons at maybe 20- 30 yards not sure about rabbits but guess it would be the same cant say ive shot much but thats my fault not its good luck with it chris
