The fact that it is a pump up says yes its the same. The new technology part is the way that the air is released, using what they call an accelerator or something along those lines. There is a review somewhere, think it was Airgun.TV I'll see if I can find it for you Phantom

If you want a reasonably close to the limit Co2, then the Sherridan EB Range is a good choice, but I must admit they sound like Artillery guns, so if indoors wear ear defenders or plugs. Other very accurate pistols in single stroke pnumatics include the Webley Alecto (Tested one of these last year at Coventry for the UBC) Very tight groups indeed and multi powered so not technically an SSP but close enough. Another would be the Gamo Compact, much more a target piece and not 100% sure of the power, but they can be 'Tuned' a little. Phantom

Using a 7grain pellet if you zero the pistol at 10 yards (30 feet) then you will have a PBR from Muzzle to 12 yards. The remaining energy is about 1.75 ft/lbs and the pellet will hit travelling at over 300 feet per second so as long as you get it in the vitals (front third of body and head) a Rat would cerainly go down very quickly Phantom
-
Thats because they are so expensive, only the filthy wealthy can afford them and they dont have time to do a report or review on them because they are trying to get in and out of those silly suits while wearing those silly glasses Phantom
-
Hi again Jac, I should imagine if you were to hit it in the front third of its body a rat would go down. What range are we talking about and I'll do the math for you? Phantom

Nice little write up W Nice bag at the end of the day as well I've yet to be zapped but nearly had me pods ripped off by the barbed wire a couple of times SPA Phantom

What can I say that has not already been said Nowt so I'll repeat! Davy and Chaz, That was a wonderful experiance the whole weekend was truely superb I among with everyone else really do appreciate the amount of effort you guy's went to and put into this event. I can hand on heart say that I did not meet a single person there who I did not get on with or dislike. Everyone that turned up was fantastic The drinks around the Camp Fire, Mike's cooking over the BBQ of the Venison and Hare was better than a 5 star restaraunt and the man himself is a real gent with a brilliant

Hi Jac, I dont think you will get a silencer for the PT80, But I can probably find one or two mags around here somewhere for you FOC. When I got mine it had several of them. Did you get the PT80 off a guy called Nick by any chance? Phnatom

That he should take his AA S200 out and kill bunnies rather than touch the nasty heavy thing again, because he now knows it makes sense  Phantom

He said as he scratched his head in thought

Dunno about Exact's, But there most certainly is a difference between AAF's and FX. I have heard it said many times they are identical, but if that was the case, there would be no weight or BC differance. Zero my gun with AAF's the FX lands about 1inch low and and 3/4 inch to the left. Zero my gun with FX then AAF's land high and right. If you look carefully the head of the FX is more bulbous and the skirt of the AA is longer. But if you can get the FX's they are a mighty fine pellet indeed and so fare remain a quid or so cheaper than the AA's Phantom

Funilly enough Dell, I got my mits on one with a silencer and scope last saturday tested it out for Davy. Very nice indeed. But the SSP's such as the Beeman and HW40's are totally recoil free, making them perfect for putting holes through targets in the place you want them Phantom

In sub 12's pellets do not fragment or crush up and expand unless you are shooting at something solid like a steel target or a block of concrete. The OP seemed worried about over penetration at close ranges? Even lighter pellets in lower powered rifles will over penetrate at close enough range. For example I used my HW40 (2.3ft/lbs) using an Eley Wasp .177 close range on a bunny in one side of its skull, through the brain and out the other side. It will happen and if you place the pellet in the correct spot, the quarry aint going to get anywhere nearer to his place of safety than

Thanks for the intro Bill If I remember Jac wants one that is fairly quiet but needs to be accurate? The HW45 is expensive and packs a hell of a punch at full power and it not that easy to learn to shoot on full either its also not the quietest. I would suggest the HW40PCA if you just want it for target work? Its also a little pricey but a darn sight less so than the 45. The identical model to the HW40 is the Beeman version considderably cheaper than the 40 due to it not being stamped HW, but its the same pistol. I see you've joined the UBC forum welcome aboard if I havent

Now Bill, After that cannon letting you down so badly you should get shut of it or at least banish it to the bottom of the cabinet The S200 wont let you down like that! You should also know that the S200 beat the sh!te out of those HW's at the meet at the weekend So what does that tell yah? And I didn't realise until after the comp that my baby was running low on air but she still managed to hit the mark and thus giving her and me the victory. Phantom ps... SPA despite the comment about burglary

Air gun licence (Ireland)
Phantom replied to james93's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Phantom, Technically speaking we live in "The United Kingdom of Great Britain AND Northern Ireland" so oddly enough Northern Ireland doesn't come under the bracket of Great Britain... just thought you might be interested. You never know, it might even come up in a Pub Quiz some time!! Aghh get you Thats my something new learnt for today then and its only 01:30 ish Phantom -
Oli, Although you did that and your quarry was specifically for Squizzers I must point out that it is actually Illegal to bait in Magpies using shiny objects or things such as foil and other shiny materials. Bumb I know (in my opinion) but the law is the law and we have to abide by it Phantom

I like this baby better and its a fraction of the cost of t'other one Granted its not everyones cup of Java but after fondling one the other day and reading the specs I'm seriously in lurrrrrve In my hands it felt lovely, fitted like a glove. Shouldered it and looked through the LaserKing scope that had been shoved on it and someone outside the shop decided to stick they're face up at the window. Should have seen the look on his face when he realised he was looking down the supressor as I was driving the bolt home Needless to say it wasn't loaded, but I gave him such a
