  1. Excellent write up SS Really enjoyed the read Sounds like the kinda fun day I am eager for on my new permission I must admit, I have only shot my springer once this year and that was at paper as I knew I would have lost my touch with it since getting lazy with a pcp. Having watched Si (Zini) last week with his springers, I really must get back to basics, but in an urban shoot they are not the best tool for the job where as the Super Quiet S200 is. Think I may actually take the springer out to the paddock sometime this week and have a play with some more paper punching and
  2. The Tesco one was hyped up a bit I got one and in built up environments it was superb but out in the field it was seriously crap! Then SpikeBlue on here suggested an Ultrafire Cree jobby from eBay I took his word for it and purchased a 300 lumen job for a few quid. I've been using it a year now and its never let me down in the field. If you check out the Deben Ledray, its virtually identical but twice the light output and throw and its a fraction of the cost of the deben ledray http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ULTRAFIRE-TORCH-501B-CREE-250-LUM-SWITCH-BATTERY-MOUNT-/250658420448?cmd=View
  3. Well like I said, I am Biased My AA S200 serves me exceptionally well as can be seen by my avatar photo At the meet last week, I did have a play with Zini's BSA R-10 A very sweet rifle indeed. But for my own shooting, competition or hunting; I'll stick to my Baby (S200) for the next few years Phantom
  4. Pulling your leg Look at my Avatar and write ups; you'll see I am incredibly biased Phantom
  5. I think Jasper (Falconry Mod uses one) He seems quite content with it and brings home decent bags. send him a PM or do a search for his posts in the Airgun section Or maybe Shay may have info, I thin he's Owned just about every airgun ever produced. Aint that right Cuz Shay? Phantom
  6. Cheers buddy Thats 3 large private gardens now. I'm just going through the ferreting section, see if I can find any Jill kits in this area, so far everything has drawn a blank Phantom
  7. From what I understand its virgin land Remember my 1st hour on the last virgin land? They all just sat there looking silly as if to say "Eyup brother, what you doing down there, Mam, bugs is playing silly buggers again, Mam, what you doing an all, POP, tell Mam...... hey is this some knew game or summat" Phantom
  8. Thanks Guy's The weight thing is a sore subject :grrrr: Maybe about half a pint, but then half a pint of Jack D old No7 is a nice amount to drink from it Phantom
  9. :realmad: :protest: What ever possessed you to commit such an appaling act? Phantom
  10. A neighbour from across the road just called round. this is the lady that bought my new M1 scope for me after I did some work on her computer for her Her son in a village a few miles away has a massive Bunny problem, thats getting way out of hand now and is encroaching onto his garden and lawns. Now if they are doing the same to his as they are doing to the old ladies lawn in the next village then the damage is going to be horrendous. He wants me to go down and thin the numbers out a bit to a more reasonable/managable level. This looks like it won't be a total erradication job, just
  11. Very good work Zac, Not my style, but I can certainly appreciate something like that and the amount of work you have put into it Phantom
  12. I know I'm just in a funny mood and fancied pulling your leg buddy Phantom
  13. Funny you should say that I've got a severe Ferret problem I can't get any and after last weekend I really fell in love with them Plenty of kits about I'm told, but not around here I'm after a couple of Polecat type kits. Shame your not a lot closer to me Don't suppose you know anyone up this end of the country do you? Phantom
  14. The Pleasure is ours, apparently were the boyscouts of the entire forum Phantom
  15. 610 gives 11.98 ft/lbs 600 gives 11.59 ft/lbs Matt, did you do the math yourself? And did you take into account the BC of the pellet I went the easy route and used CGP Phantom
  16. Using the data from Weirach (max fps is 722fps) and 0.94 (14.51grains) pellet weight has your gun running at 16.6 ft/lbs and is indeed over You would need to have the gun running at about 11 to 11.5 ft/lbs to be safe so using those pellets you want a max velocity of 597.3 FPS better to run with 11 ft/lbs(more than enough) at 584 FPS velocity Hope that helps Phantom
  17. Hi there Do you know what pellets he tested it with? Phantom
  18. Hmmm..... A wrestler? Well I'll take that as a compliment Normally people say I'm RiffRaff's Double I must admit, I looked at a photograph of him once and said, "I dont remember wearing that shirt at the range" I then had a closer look and saw he had a tattoo on his forearm! Must admit, the resemblance between him and I is uncanny. Thank your boy for me Phantom
  19. Thats correct Apart from a few that sneak in to try to stir thing up a little, were here to answer questions. Don't be afraid to ask anything. its how we learn stuff and it helps those who are a little shy about asking. Even us experianced regulars on here wind up asking somethings, helps refresh our memory and someone will have another answer that may be of use to people or even puts things across in a way that just 'clicks' in a way that will be understood more easily than the way someone else says the same thing using different words if yah get what I mean. Ask away Oh an
  20. Typical, Think that was why Si took his stuff off Bunny huggers think they are all nice and cuddly in the wild. And they are when they aint causing grief, damage and finincial loss for the farmer, horse owners etc.... Yep there sure are some tossers out there that don't understand the need for pest or vermin control. My neighbour is bringing her bunny round for us to look after tomorrow. Its one of those Lion head pets. she's already asked me to promiss not to shoot it I told her pets are not vermin Just wait til she hears I'm getting a couple of Pole Cats Phantom
  21. Cheers Davy, A few of the guy's suggested it. So I thought, oh well what the ell Thanks Phantom
  22. The weight of the rifle is 8.6lbs But I dont think your enquiring about that so I'll hazzard a guess that you want to know the ME (Muzzle Energy) So the ME is not too far short of 11to12 ft/lbs Phantom
  23. The ONLY explanation is the Primary Zero is approx yards, secondary is 25 and the wind moves the pellet 2 inches Phantom
