It's Whitstable.Old victoriana places with no footings.Just corballed brickwork going down onto wet clay.Theres a walkway behind these houses called stream walk which used to be a running stream up untill the 60s.Dig anywhere round here and you will hit water by 2ft.We even redded the drains at first thinking they were blocked then realised it was water from the surrounding ground

I'd like to think that even if I weren't a builder and saw a load of brand new timber once I looked in the front door and saw the builders using it I'd realise it weren't rubbish.But maybe I've just got a bit more common sense than the divvy c**ts down here and the average thl member

Not our problem mate.Weve priced to do the groundscrews and timber extension.Loft conversion and we've just agreed to drop the chimney and scrape back loose render as an extra.We lifted a drain lid on Friday to see where the drains run before we put the screws in and the 9" drains were half full.At first we thought they were blocked untill we dug a test hole and it started filling with water 500mm down.Trouble is thes old houses have had all the suspended wooden floors ripped up and filled with concrete.pointed with sand/cement and upvc double glazing so don't breathe like they would have done

This 2 up 2 down has just gone for that price.when we pulled the skirting boards off we realised the walls had been battened and played over.When we pulled that off the paster and render fell off with it up to 5ft.these blocks in the party wall are absolutely soaked 4 courses up.

From where it is stacked you can look in the open front door straight down the hallway and see us using it.If you lot see a stack of brand new timber and think its rubbish you must be a thick as all the soppy London hippies that have set up home down here in Whitstable

Working in a little terraced gaff atm up a side street with minimal parking spots so been having to stack any timber we have on the skip out the front and bring it in as we need it.must have had 20 people over the last couple of days ask"Are you throwing that away?canI have it? We've come inside the house that we've just had the back walls out of now the steels are in and its all safe.Taking the chimneys out inside now which aint a lot better,Soaked in sweat and covered in old lime dust and soot.

Just paid a deposit a couple of weeks backfor a little holiday in Turkey for justMy daughter and me in September.Theyre now saying stear clear of anywhere close with the borders with Syria and Iran but at the moment major tourist locations are deemed safe from terrorism.Wondering whether to just f**k it off and look for somewhere else.

Pal of mine got 2 genuine European polecats nearly 20years ago.When he first got them they would just hide in the run but he put them in cages and got them to the point where he could handle them quite safely.Bred them with ferrets and his daughter handled the younguns till they were as gentle as kittens.As soon as he tried working them the reverted to wild things.Not bitey but you just couldn't catch them.Theyde either kill in or if they came out of an earth you'd be running down the hedgerow trying to keep them in sight
