  1. Seen a few of that breeding and didnt rate any of them tbh. Most of the lads running them from that area would double them up on a poxy fox
  2. Taking hogs aint no great shakes mate.Ive seen boar taken by a lurcher that wouldnt even look at a fox if run on its own.Owned an AB too that took them but wouldnt stick its head in a hole
  3. To breed a dog for protection work no you dont need tried and tested bulldogs as has already been proven. But having that attitude is probably why 90%of bull cross lurchers aint worth a w**k
  4. To breed a bull/herder or to produce quality bull/lurchers?
  5. Trouble is how many of these bull/herders are bred out of tried and tested bulldogs? But saying that how many of the 1000s of bull/greyhounds up and down the british Isles are bred out of tried and tested bulldogs
  6. Yeah Nathaniel and his dad Rocky are nice Fellas.Another very good trainer is Rodney and the best is a lovely old fella called Earl who Rodney learned from.Earls a good friend of mine and was putting schutzhund titles on dogs in the 80s.He calls all these modern trainers the crash, bang, wallop brigade.
  7. Yeah Scott told me a couple of stories about it.I know of multiple presa males that have got shitty with their owners.Fellas who know their way around a dog too
  8. Thats the problem. Its not the dogs its the people they end up with.A straight herder is a liability if it ends up with somebody who doesnt know how to manage it
  9. Thats why its best to breed for yourself and a few trusted associates and nut the rest but unfortunately everyone want to earn a few quid too.
  10. And got shot of that when it started trying its luck
  11. I had a heavy Joshuas Sandvalley Sam bred bitch down off an import from AS.Super solid temperament with great hunting drive.Tried a few after that and didnt keep any of them.
  12. Exactly that mate.A proper bulldog improves pretty much anything you cross it to.
  13. Why not.Come give us your educated opinion.
  14. Yeah it was. That origional cross was done around the time I was training with him.
  15. Bodybuilder.Hes a big fat f**ker who made a statement and went to court against a bloke who punchd him in the face when he was being a big tough doorman. Was then wginging on fb that the fella only got a fine and comunity service.
  16. Otac is the only fella I would even consider getting an AB off these days. The few of his dogs Ive seen in the flesh have all been nice animals and hes a nice fella too.He was very impressed when he saw my old bitch work as a pup when we both did some private night training with Scott
  17. Why would you.Just use a decent bulldog.
  18. Who did you jear it from because I wouldnt believe anything that come out of his mouth to do with hunting
  19. Never produced a single thing that was any good though.Dog was decent enough apparently but was bred from muliple generations of untested animals all bred at under 18months old
  20. Sorry mate I meant I like the bull/herders.I wouldnt want anything with presa close up in it.And theres plenty of idiots already getting their hands on them as unfortunately the protection dog game has been taken over by peddlers churning out multiple litters a year to be sold to anyone with money in their pocket.
  21. Im sure Scott will love you putting his name out on here.
  22. Tbh I quite like them.Havent spent time around any apart from at training venues but Id imagine the bulldog blood probably tones down a bit of that hyperness that you get with the pure malis.Every straight bulldog Ive ever owned has been super chilled around the home.
  23. Yeah mali x bull. One of the fellas who I used to train with and whos producing a lot of good dogs started by breeding a mal to a pressa. He kept a male and bred that onto 3 diffent bulldogs and kept stuff back. They are now crossing them back onto malis and back to mali/presa/bulls and is getting 2 distinct types. One throws more to the bull and the other type looks more like a very powerful herder.
  24. Loads of lads started breeding them the last 5 or 6 years
