    Thanks Buster. I don't really post anywhere anymore. Certainly nothing about hunting, but i will just put a few stories up to let people know that good bags can be had with any gun, no matter what age, as long as it shoots straight. Going to start on the maggies soon and i hope to beat my evenings record bag of 21! watch this space! lol

    Had an hour this evening with the FN12 again. My young lurcher has a cut on his pad but i took him for the walk. His retrieving training is coming along and he did a very good retrieve the other day. Tonight was a bit of a test for him.As unbelievale as it sounds the first major oak tree i got to i spotted the plump outline of a woodie. Then another, 3,5,7,12,........god, there were lots of them. First shot was a miss! Bas7ard! But i then dropped the next that fell into thick holly. My little dog ran in on command and after a minute or two brought the woodie back.     The other day i had a quick walk in the local woods with the Falcon. This gun is now ten years old and still shoots as sweet as a nut. Managed to shoot four woodpigeon that were in high beeches and missed a couple when the pellet hit an unseen branch. Also two squirrels met their maker, the first one came scurrying, spread eagle round my sid of an old oak when the dog went to the other side.A twenty yard shot brought him down. The next was clamped verticaly onto an old tree and i have to shoot sharply upward. A tricky shot and i held slightly low, drilling the tree-rats vitals and he came sp

    The lung area on a rabbit isnt that much bigger than the head shot.You might need to practice until you are good with the gun. At night, on the lamp, the rabbits always look alot further away than what they are. For most of the time you will be 20 yards or less, so try and get good groupings at that range. Over the years i have killed alot of rabbits with body shots, but if they are near cover then forget it. Even when drilled through both lungs a rabbit can cover 30 yards.     Lets hope not.Most of the DVD's could be used against us, things look and sound alot worse on tape than in the field.

    Remingtons are a great rifle to start with matey. Not too expensive either. And don't worry about DSC1 as you do not need it to get an FAC, it is not a legal requirement. You live in a good area with plenty of deer. Good luck.

    I guess it all boils down to one thing...RESPECT. Just like with some of the hunting fraternity, theres some that just want to kill. Others want the 'hunt'. Its all about the journey.

    Well, the way i looks at it is...IF you are going to eat those woodies then you want to shoot them now rather than in a weeks time when they will be fit for nothing more than ferret food. I roasted four the other day with some venison, and they sure tasted nice cold with a bit of pickle.

    It just about sums up what our country is like now. It's going to take a Prime Minister with Balls and a Backbone to change the direction we are heading in. He served less than 2 months in total for killing a 12 year old girl that had all her life ahead of her. You can bet your bottom dollar that should the girls father go and murder the Iraqi then he would be looking at a ten stretch as a minimum. It disgusts me.

    If its Earmites, lots of dark brown gunk inthe dogs ear and they are shaking their head then Canaural is the product the vet will prescribe. IMO its the best you can get.

    The reason they fitted in so easy is that the irish are essentially the same as us english...have the same values the same traditions and the same understanding of basic right and wrong....in other words we have a lot in common so can live side by side with no problems.....we have nothing in common with muslims from basic principals to normal everyday living so to expect us all to live together in harmony is unrealistic and unfair...... That said i think this EDL stuff is a waste of time,why pick out one single part of society to protest against....thats nothing to do with pride in your count
