  1. TBH i believe that the people who pinch dogs are from within our own hunting community.Sadly.
  2. Well guys, i am always interested in constructive critisism and this has all been taken on board. I have to say that the next book on the hare will have at least 4 times as many pages of text in it. This first one was done as a photographic celebration of the hare. However, if anyone thinks the book is not what they bought they can keep it for a year and i will buy it back off them if they so wish next autumn. I can't say fairer than that. So that's the coursing book for a year to read and then it can be returned 'in reasonable condition' for the money back. It is quite difficult to please e
  3. Cheers for the link Martin. I have a couple of mushroom books here at the moment but i am not too happy with them. I will buy that one you recommended to try. cheers
  4. I have had a pair of Harkila for a while now and i rate them. There is snags from the barbed wire, but they have yet to rip, though i must say you do sweat a litle bit in them on a warm day.

  7. My thoughts exactly. Now i am in no way a good netter but through the nineties i did mess around with gate nets and the like. I tried the 'noted' way with stones and pieces of wood, but it just wasn't right. In the end, after a little thought, i used a short 8-10 yard long net and three hazels. This was set tight to the gate on both sides with the middle of the net being out from the gate in a triangular pattern. Hares and rabbits would run under the gate and be on their way when they hit the net and were tangled. Like i say, i didnt use this much, but it did work better than the old fashioned
  8. WOW! She looks a proper intelligent little darling. Great to see such a clever canine that knows her job inside out. Respect.
  9. Hi, its a Grey Dagger, a lovely caterpillar A good find as, despite their colouration, they can be hard to spot,
  10. I had a look at the 28-300L with a view to maybe only having to carry one lens around all day, but tbh I didn't feel the image quality was all that you'd expect from L glass. It may have just been a bad copy that I tried, but after speaking to several other people they agreed that for an L lens it wasn't quite as sharp as it should be at the extremes... A very versatile lens though, a bit on the heavy side, but not much more than the 70-200 2.8. The 100-400L must be do for a re-vamp soon, might be one to consider? Although you'd still need another lens for the wider view... th e28-
  11. Just a short question. Can anyone tell me what size the thread is on the bottom of lightforce lamps please. Cheers. JD
  12. The slow lenses that need alot of light are ok through summertime. And, yes, when theres a bit of sun you can get stunnning shots with cheap lenses. BUT in the coming six months as light levels drop the quality of lenses will become painfully apparent. Problem being, we have all got to work to a budget, but it is better to get a second hand f2.8 than a new F5.6
  13. Pale tussock. Sometimes known as 'hop dogs'. Nice moth and an even nicer caterpillar, i have bred these on numerous occasions.
  14. Frenchie was on the film saying that the dog had been specially bred for that comp! I think it was in yorkshire the week before!
