  2. NNaahh....I need 'em........Only post the 'culls'.....
  3. Hi, colour won't have a bearing..the squirrel will run up the nearest tree, as the dog runs past the tree the squirrel will skuttle around your side of the trunk away from the dog. Then you tak5e him. i've hunted squirrels this was for the past 25+ years with all colours of dogs..... but, hey that's JMHO...JD
  4. I had a walk today, got a few images, some good, some bad. Here's one of the three hares that I was within spitting distance of. Saw about fifteen today but they were a bit skittish.... happy Snapping...JD
  5. I'm going to mention something that no one has yet. You own dogs, well, I would take a dog with you and watch him as well as the tree's. Your dog will be able to hear the scrabble of claws against bark and smell the squirrel long before you see him. 6. Great news! Hope you enjoy the grouse keepering side of things. There will be much to learn, but if you're keen enough then there's nothing to stop you going right to the top. I've known some grouse keepers make their way up to being head keeper on a big estate by their mid twenties.... just one tiny bit of advice......i wouldn't post anything about your job, location or anything like that on the internet...... Good Luck...
  7. No matter what, you cannot legislate against nutcases losing the plot and going crazy. No amount of checks are going to stop that happening. Unfortunately.
  8. Well, IMO you won't get better than magnum trap co's Talpa.............on price or quality... give them a go.
  9. If its a Chiffchaf or WIllow Warbler it wasn't taken recently as they are all tucked up in Africa mate. It's a young warbler for sure but not taken recently. Not all of them buddy......
  10. I personally don't see the addition of bull blood as a plus point. I see it as diluting working ability by 50%. Which is a backward step. JMHO.
  11. Eh??? so called deer expert the only wild examples are found on the Cumbria-Lancashire border from a small herd in woodland near Silverdale and Arnside is home to a small herd of very handsome Norwegian black fallow deer Well....funny thing, I never realised that Fallow were indigenous to Norway. 'Cos, if they aren't then there can't be anything such as a "norwegian fallow"...only fallow that have been imported from Norway and are the very same as what we have running around in the uk..... Ergo, that photo is of a melanistic fallow, plain and simple. ...... i cant bel
  12. I would bet money that it's a fox tipped out of a sack then the eagles 'slipped'.....there's lots of pics around like that,. often with 'wolves', which are domestic dogs with various levels of cruelty attached......shame....
  13. I would be very surprised if it wasn't set-up.......
  14. I didn't think grouse would feed on wheat.....
  15. Well, I'm not an expert, but If i had to guess I'd say Rusa......
