  1. Make sure my missus chats to her next time I see yeh, she`ll convert her !!! hahahaha Still laughing at the shock on her face when that blue dog ran like buggery at the races lol. FFS even WHIN liked it hahaha You not got any time off during the winter mate ? or do yeh prefer tae get the hunting done abroad in the sun ? Aye, would be a boost to her training to have a bit of female guidance! Yeah, in theory I can take any days off I want lol plus off if the weather is too bad!! (so much for hunting in the sun! haha) It would be great to meet up for a day or night at some point!
  2. Im Back, got about 1 more weeks holiday then back to graft, flat out till next July! No complaints with the Blue bitch, shes doing me proud, almost fit enough for the coming season ... aye my lass is gaining confidence, shes gutting bunnies now, so thats an improvement, but still has some way to go yet before I can say shes a true worker
  3. Going to be a wee pocket rocket that one! All the best with it, the pup looks a real cracker! regards DnN
  4. I would have caught half the stuff I have if my dogs didnt jump! I cant understand how folk can work a dog that wont jump to pursue game, they must watch tons of stuff trottin' off into the next field or wood with their dog stood by the fence lol .....sod that!
  5. Aye, sounds like a solution to the problem. Hope it works out for you ATB
  6. You can also legally use your dog on all quarry to flush it for your hawk to catch
  7. Price varies a lot from vet to vet. Id say 40-60 quid up here Millet. Id never get one of mine done though seen so many dogs turn into fat useless lumps, losing all their 'go' in the process
  8. Dont need bull in a dog for non edible vermin aswell edit: Forgot to say what a cracking pair of lurchers you have, and with a harsh coat and good feet, they should fair well on all ground.
  9. I like your thinking, I really do. If only we had state owned land that we could all hunt like in the USA, Canada and Australia, we would all be like pigs in shit... but the way it happened to me was sneaky and dishonest, I often struggle to find good honest folk without hidden agendas
  10. Its happened to me... they dont know that I know that they been back on my permision, more than once.... but I do. Bad crack, and from folk that pass as decent to your face
  11. Is that the whole set, locator, collar, charger and case etc? cheers
  12. never a truer word spoke aye they are good, for sure! But ive had terriers suffocate in a tight spot also cave ins, that dosent make them bad terriers.
  13. I prefer to feed whole animals /birds, so the ferret gets a proper diet. But most of my bunnies get gutted as they get caught/shot to make carrying easier.
  14. Great video Hily.. Ive had the pleasure of a days shooting in the company of Hily and his spaniels are a treat to watch. Never had mine spot on with bunnies and they often chased a few yards before stopping to the whistle. Rabbit shooting over spaniels its a sport in its own right, and highly enjoyable. Takes that bit more training too which is all part of the fun. Hopefully see you again this season DnN
  15. All the best finding a good working home, thats a stomper of a pup
  16. solid marker...dogs enters, I dig him out.
  17. Nowt wrong with a working bred collie based lurcher for foxing, plenty strong enough! but I cant bide puppy farmers - like handcock.
  18. Done a lot of lamping from quads/gators/argo's etc, quads can be a bit loud, so once I spotted eyes I often got off and delt with the vermin on foot. My dogs sat on a wooden patform on back of the quad. Handy for covering big areas of fell where you could walk all night and find no fox's.
  19. 2 less pomeranians on the street, at least someones putting them to good use!
  20. lol Im calm artful Ive been asked for 18 years by my college pals who have been hunting with me many times, and for 1 reason or another Ive never made it over... this will be my first time in the Rep of Ireland. Not just dogs, also shooting/fishing too.
  21. I ruined which country? Go f**k yourself mustard... Ive got some good friends over in Ireland and Northern Ireland, and like i say Im looking forward to getting out with them.
  22. All good fun, met some cracking fellas along the way too, some real characters. No way I'm letting this countries bad legislation stop me and my dogs doing what we do naturally. Cheers
