  1. Thats some statement{looking forward to Ireland} True though
  2. I was going to get one of these pricey deben feckers, 18ah... but after hearing a load of bad reports I decided just to stick with the heavy acid battery, feck it, after all I could buy a 6 pack of 18ah acid batteries for the price of 1 lithium. Ive got a comfy lamping backpack so the weight dosent bother me too much, wey not until there over a dozen bunnies in it too.
  3. Under a year old in this picture. This dog has done well for me, Ive hunted him in about 6 countries over Europe on legal quarry ranging from Coypu to Wild Boar. Looking forward to Ireland in the near future. Some really nice dogs on this thread, that are obviously very well looked after and allowed to do what they do best. Have a good season lads.
  4. They are 15 quid delivered on ebay. Im getting one! Thanks Mally. Just gettin' my blitz and a new 18ah battery for the coming season..
  5. Love bumping into JP at our local show, usually he turns up with a terrier or two that ye look at and think, that works! He likes the red fell type, strongish clever dogs, a good working type. As usual the workers among the show ponies dont get a look in lol but hey ho its the crack with folk like this that make your day at these summer club shows
  6. Just watched that lass swim, after all the shite that was said I had to have a deek... either way, she's a feckin good swimmer, you cant just take a bunch of speed and swim like that! Its all technique. plus everything I heard said she was a wee 16 yr old bird... na, she was like a brick shit hoose..
  7. A sad loss Stuntman, all the best with his pups, I hope they work well for you,, but I wish you were right Skycat.. when I was a single handed keeper in Northumberland, early 1 season we lost 2 dogs off the same hill from adder bites. The first was a Labrador, a big strong one at that, I was taken to the vet that day where it was tret. 2 days later it was dead in the kennel, vet reckoned liver/kidney failure. Second was a farm sheepdog out gatherin the hill, dead by evening with swollen bite to throat. All the best DnN
  8. She is with a very good friend of mine now, she and I had issues, she also had issues with a good terrier bitch of mine, would have been a dead terrier if I didnt do some emergency stitching to her neck! However my friend, who has been with lurchers for more years than I, thinks the world of her. But with him she has a 1 on 1 relationship, which is really what she does best with.
  9. Had a bitch out of Nell. It had everything in it, but all worker/worker breeding.
  10. Canny, all the best putting them in the right hands... (dont envy you having to sift through the scum on here mate)
  11. enough speed for all game, tough and durable for all ground types as I run lots of mountain/hill, keen to catch all game, and a bit of obedience doesnt go a miss( bonus lol) nice with kids and other dogs, slaughter toothed vermin (eg rats )
  12. Nice pictures, good dog work.
  13. But aye, the further North you go the slower the crops grow... Down northern France they cutting wheat now. Spain was like a desert, all crops were long cut, unless corn or something but this had to be artificially watered. Im getting psyched about this season, theres plenty aboot, just need to order a new lamp and battery... think Im going all out with a variable blitz and a lithium battery set up ! !
  14. Where you at mate?... Ive been driving around Europe for just over a month, but Before I went they had cut a lot of the silage around Argyll, Loch Lomond, Clyde, already, and not made a start in Northumberland, which is much further south.
  15. Raw from a variety of game... either minced or scraped or bashed to suit the pups age.
  16. If you reckon its there, I'd happily take time off work and do a weeks stake out with the rifle. (and landowners consent)
  17. Im sure someone on here would lend you a trail camera or two? That would soon find out the truth. Deffo make a lot of coin if you got footage.... even more if you then bagged it.
  18. Made a start, hope it carries on well for you
  19. Same in France/Spain Golden retrievers are a popular breed here as well as labs, pretty much every one Ive seen and encountered has been very over weight, and damn aggressive too... had to beat one off that went for my lurcher bitch, she dont back down from any dog so it would have got nasty... the daft bloke came out with the same old shite... never done that before hes just a pup.... f**k me for a pup it must have weighed 10 stone, its nothing short of cruelty to let a dog get so overweight.
  20. Ive always fancied a go at making myself a decent knife... theres no way I would pay 200-400 for one thats for sure as its just a hunting tool for me. I look forward to reading through your posts they sound good. Like you said this forum is more about the crack, sharing info and helping each other, rather than financial gain. Hats off to you for your input
  21. Totally disagree with the OP... that would get dug just like any other fox, weve had some big feckers like that over 20lbs and no issues.
  22. I could get rid of my longdogs if I ran like that chap haha
