    Have always kept pure spaniels, cockers and springers, but for pushing fox or whatever from big areas of cover the cross breds tend to hunt a line better, give tongue, which is handy for the fellas waiting with the shotties or lurchers (for the rabbits lol) and yet they wont go miles away on a fox like a pure bred hound would. It all depends on what your needing from your bushing dog. But I agree for a close range flushing dog, and general pest control dog a spaniel is very hard to beat.

    Used to run spaniel/terriers and spaniel/beagle/terriers, were a great dog for driving out any sort of covers from big woods and forestry to fell/moorland

    Im going back into Europe this summer/autumn, taking the dogs this time, got a few invites, so I will be doing as much hunting as possible! Australia next year, cant wait

    Only 1 reason you would be interested in importing a german terrier strain (that was originally done the other way round, as they are from BRITISH terrier stock, like all good terriers) and thats for MONEY... we already have the best terriers in the world, to look elsewhere for stock is retarded
