  1. Felt is fine Thought it would be a waste of time putting it on this joke of a site, full of f*****g timewasting f*****g scumbags who do nowt but sit on here and crab everyones posts. kennels are worth a lot more than I was asking for them
  2. ...did you get any seal shots Romany? Seen a few off shore up here in Argyll, nothing close enough for a picture though.
  3. looks like yours are used to travelling them rock holes anyway. I only used to avoid the short legged, and barrel chested types... I always enjoyed reading the stories from G.D (rip) in the EDRD magazine, he worked the same sort (jagd) though I got the impression that especially the males could be on the large side? anyway, thats the land you have, and good on you for hunting it, dont be put off, all dogs could die from a multitude of ways each and every time you step out of your front door... good luck mate
  4. I lost a good terrier last season in what was nothing more than a puppy spot, so in my opinion the rocks are very good places to work. heard of some pretty epic recoveries from rocks, but then things can go wrong in any place...fine soft sand for me is way more nervy a job than a rock pile.... Must know which ones to avoid though.... On my ground Ive got one that creeps down through the grikes to the mine workings beneath, if the terrier falls into their hes a gonner- acording to the accounts of the terriermen from my local hunt.
  5. Always had to work rock piles, as a keeper no choise, if the dogs mark it terriers going in. Worst thats happened was a 3 day wait for my old dog. I prefer a hard fecker of a terrier in rocks, at least if a bolt isnt on the cards the fox should get sorted. A stand-offish terrier could be there for ever barking away. unless your meaning your dogs come away after a short bay, which I know could be handy in some places.
  6. Northumberland... I will see you right for it
  7. Those males look big healthy specimens... in up in Argyll, plenty frogs going about their business at present, but not with the 'gut' on them like your frogs!
  8. Thanks for the comments... Kile, thats a Mandarin Drake, nice shot mate!
  9. you can never be sure of what the end product is going to be like, based on the percentages. Your best bet by far is to try and get a pup from good working parents that you have seen working (or could see working). If the parents would both suit you, you have as much chance as possible securing a pup that suits you. Theres good and bad examples in every breed, so best to keep an open mind in my opinion. Best of luck finding what you want
  10. Why get so wound up with daft percentages? (my opinion, as when I was first getting into lurchers I was blasted with the same crap from many people) They mean little when out in the field. Far better getting a pup out of the best workers you can find, that suit YOUR personal requirements.
  11. Well everyone else takes pics of insects and stuff getting it on.... so heres my input
  12. thanks mate, Im hoping to upgrade my camera soon, Im leaning towards the Nikon's, tried a l120 but not so good, are there any around the £300 to 400 mark? Heres some off my old phone lol.... Im sure if I had a decent camera I may be able to get some proper pictures. And..... drum roll please..... I got this sneaky pic with.... a kodak disposable!!
  13. Wow! Some of you guys must have some fancy cameras thats for sure, awesome quality closeups! Heres a few close ups ive taken, but crap quality, crap cameras, sorry...
  14. Lol I came second in biggest rat comp! Jack, that mole is a beast, good find! Get him stuffed!!
  15. LOL sounds big, but ive never measured any before so couldnt tell you...to be honest none really stood out as being huge for me... could you post a photo of it next to a regular male mole please DnN
  16. D 'n' N I also use my 2 on the shoot for flushing and picking up, they have been trained to mark from the nest onwards so will mark anywhere I am almost certain I could never train a terrier to mark a hole and not enter. Like I say mate, hats off to you they sound a handy team
  17. Feck, your a better man than me if you can train a terrier to do that! I doff my cap in your general direction!
  18. Ive had firearms since I was 16, had no issues with anti's ever apart from 1 time an old man yelled at me from across the tyne (river) when I shot a Black backed Gull several years back, he shouted something like,' I;ll swim over there and shoot you you murdering b***%*d!' .... he didnt. Anyway, just like to point out that most folk over here do nowt better than winge and mooan about anything and everything all the fecking time haha, I have had a great time hunting over here all my life, working my lurchers and terriers and spaniels, shooting vermin and game and deer. and lots more. Plenty mo
