  4. I think everybody died mid sixties or before in those days. I think there were lots of reasons for it-not just poor grub. One thing I have noticed though is that kids who were born just after the war are a lot taller than their parents-better nutrition i reckon. I'm a lot taller than my dad was and even my older brothers. My mam reckoned it was because i got cod liver oil and free orange juice which wasn't available to older kids. Mind you the fact that we lived near the docks helped too--there was lots of foodstuffs knocked off from the docks which always found its way into kitchen. My dad
  5. thats fair point , alot designer type dogs which are bred just for looks (cockerpoos, labpoos, etc ) are fetching 800-1000£ quid a pup, and alot of hancock pups would appeal to people wanting a nice type looking dog, as they are nice b/w, merle colliex pups , yeh he make more money than £ 300 quid a pup .lol And it dont shock me how he treats his stock, ive been to just as bad places over the years , from working homes where there not much better ,looked after and thats only few dogs there , its not only hancock that treat dogs like he does plenty , of other people do. i s

  16. i was watching a quiz show the other day,one question was ,,,,when did londons population get back up to the same as 1939,,,,,,the three choises were 1955,,,95,,,or 2015,,,,,i thought it would be 55 but was shocked it was 2015.... with the two world wars ,,,and spanish flue in the early 20th centuray,,,we lost alot of humans Truth is mate the human race think they are the master race but war is a way of curbing overpopulation, the human race will eventually destroy the planet.Going back to the somme, the greatest blunder was the order walk do not run, had they been quick enough to

when i was a kid 12 , i nicked some stuff out of a shop, got caught pinching some knifes , just had telling off from shop owner , they got my dad to go down for me at shop. he walked in , seen me had a word with shop owner , we walked outside , and the fecker hit right up the side of my face , with back of his hand , nearly knocked me on the floor . it stopped me fecking about doing stuff like that , but i deaffed my old man out after that , for very long while , we never really got on after, even in my 20s
  19. true , not saying they shouldn't be on leads they should , just saying that the dog was very aggressive , and he did right keeping it on a lead . what i am saying i wouldnt want keep a dog like that that . your living a knife edge with bloody thing like that , i wouldnt want that , rather have my 2 soft dogs any day, there both great with people/dogs but do the job in the field , you carnt ask for better than that i dont think .
  20. yeh thats it, in the field Buck different dog when on a wild animal hunting he full on , he like a jekyll/ hide temp, just like a different dog really . you are right it is a good job his friendly to people / dogs , if he wasnt he be prob worse than that rottie , as he lot more fitter and prob stronger , all lurchers are, they all have what ever the x, natural vigour , being hybrid s = x breeds .
  21. was walking the dogs to day on my norm dog walk, and most people ive met have been ok there dogs have been friendly , just like my 2 are, Bryn bit aloof but ok and friendly , Buck just bloody daft likes to play with them, he likes them to chase him, then once running he will start to course them lol, he dont hurt them just put his head over there neck , but it all play and all the dogs enjoy there selves . . well a bloke was walking down the lane with a big rottie male, think it kept as a guard dog i was told, the bloke wasn't that tall so suppose the dog looked even bigger that wh
  22. spot on she said she fit , yeh fit for fook all only talking crap haha
  23. As long as she is trying to retrieve them let her fumble them a bit. A young dog has to work out the best way of getting a good grip on a wriggling rabbit. Don't snatch the rabbit from her when she comes ;pause for her to hold it a few seconds then take it and give lots of praise. Practice retrieving with heavy dummies and dead rabbits so she can get weight distribution worked out . And whatever you do don't let her work with other dogs which may rush-in and steal her rabbit while she is fumbling to get a soft-mouthed grip . A sensitive dog can have its confidence knocked and enthu
  24. + 2 rather have one thats soft mouth, than one that bring them right in crunched up . when old Bryn was younger he bring them in well alive , he retrieve say from 45 yds or more which is good, but get to say 4-5 ft away from then put the rabbit down on the floor, and the rabbit would run off lol, he catch it again but i had to be very quick get to him and grab it.Now Buck differnt his rabbits are all alive , he soft mouthed on rabbits , which is great as deff knows what his teeth are for if he bumped in anything else lol. with the rabbit he come right to you , but dont really
