Makes sense as the dog is working in bursts, Usually! I suppose as well as over all fitness we are really trying to improve recovery time and strength. So bursts of exercise of different intensity should be very beneficial. Thanks for the input. S2H Yeh that's kind of my thinking behind it. It's also very time-effective. You can give them a good workout in a relatively short space of time. Same as a lot of budding athletes who train HIIT only do 30 minute sessions as opposed to doing steady state cardio for 90 minutes or more.

I don't know if it's considered "unusual" or not but I've been doing a bit of H.I.I.T with my dogs. Similar principe to what some humans do when training for an event or just to get fit. Running them beside the bike at high intensity for short intervals, followed by the same period intervals at a steady state. You can blitz relatively fit dogs in half an hour, or I can mine anyway, and it certainly improves their fitness. How much it helps them when it comes to lamping or coursing I don't know. But it can't be a bad thing as part of the fitness regime. I've just done 5 mile, the

There's no doubt these will make good dogs in the right hands. Like a few others have said if I had kennel space and the work I would of snapped one up at twice the price. J1985 is a good lad and these pups won't have wanted for anything. Hope we see a few on here over the next year or two.

They are full of shit. Headline says tsunami. Second paragraph says experts say it won't be a tsunami. Messing c**ts. Haven't read a newspaper for years. Or watched the news for that matter. Lies about lies upon lies after lies.

How did you ruin your first dog Gaz? Impatient, short tempered, never built a bond. Didn't help he was a saluki greyhound and I was clueless.Fair play to you pal we can only learn from our mistakes if we're honest with ourselves and sounds like you've done just that Reckon you hit the nail on the head with your first post too I learnt lots from that dog mate. He only lived 12 months. Killed himself when he hit a tree lamping. Was a blessing in disguise really because he was a real head case and definitely had issues. But I didn't help those issues and probably created some of them.

Good post that. So many people moan on here about lack of numbers in their local area. Then moan the dog isn't coming on so well. The lads you mentioned don't have the stuff on their doorsteps either, they put the miles in and reap the rewards.

He's got the biggest busher in the country I think. Lol

Get it done mate. My missus is 38 and being talking about retraining since she was 33. Now she's saying she's nearly 40 and too old. I keep trying to push her into doing something she wants to do but I suppose it's easier to put it off and stay as she is. You've still got 30+ years of work ahead of you.

Yeh Jok boxes are tidy Owain.

I had a look myself at second hand ones but they really seem to hold their money. For the extra few quid (if you've got it) i think it's worthwhile buying new. You get a decent warrantee and you know it hasn't been abused. The Bellman and Flint rechargeable setup is £370 on their website. All the best. Gaz

Many a good dog ruined by idiots. Including my first dog ruined by me. Equally there will be dogs out there with sub standard breeding which have been made into decent enough pot fillers by good dog men. But you can't polish a turd and I firmly believe some dogs just ain't got what it takes no matter how good a dog man has got the lead. So in answer to your question I think you need a good dose of each. Topped off with a good splash of luck.

That dog is a very nice animal He is a lovely dog mate. Better in the flesh. Cracking temperament too. Steady and switched on. He picked up working alongside my busher in a couple of trips. Looking forward to doing a lot with him this coming season. -
Deneside belle is the name of a whippet/greyhound mate.

I didn't think a myxi squeaker counted ..... Fair point. Lol

Never understood the whole Paki thing. A mate of mine was up in court for calling a paki a smelly paki in front of police a while back. And he was a Pakistani and he did stink. If someone calls me a Brit I ain't gonna take offence so I don't really get it. Same here mate but it seems you can't call any c**t these days Bet you get nicked for calling a pedo a pedo these days.
-
Fuckers mate. Using the kids as look outs aswell. Nothing like starting them off on the right road for life ahead.

Yep I was just sat out the back and noticed it drawing in earlier than it has been. A touch of wind in the air too. I will be having a few trips down Hereford way to a mate on his permission, got a couple of invites up north to take lads up on and an invite down Bedford to take a lad up on. I will mostly be running the red bitch to see if she's any good, she needs a few big nights but the brindle bitch will still get a few nights out too. She started to get a liking for retrieving shot fox towards end of last season so will let her do a bit of that. Plenty of daytime bushing and I w
