  1. Thanks lads and lasses. Plenty to go at there. I've watched that touching the void, very good. Richard Kuklinski. Disturbing. Lol. And watched a few of the Bruce parry documentaries last night. Mainly the tribe ones. They are very good. Couldn't stop watching them. He's a right character and isn't afraid to have a go at anything to impress his host. Top man.
  2. Ain't even watching that. This kind of shit boils my piss. Insulting the killer. Whatever next. The guy should be given a medal and the killer should be stoned to death see if that insults him enough.
  3. Looks a nice morning, thanks for sharing.
  4. That's right socks. Just think how many dogs you have ruined over the years and never even knew it. Lol
  5. Jeemes you mention knowledge, surely experience is worth more than knowledge in this game? Anyone can claim to have knowledge from reading or being told. Like all the lads saying that running dogs too young leads to joint problems. But we haven't got anyone with a single case of a dog that was ran young and had joint problems. What we have got is a few lads who've posted on here who have consistently ran their dogs young and still have these dogs working 6-7-8-9 seasons later. With no joint problems. As for the cost of lurchers I think that's absoloute twaddle in this case. Su
  6. Navek and twister. Hahahaha. Cheers wideboy. I'm gonna give it a bash anyway. Got nothing to lose.
  7. be with vet saterday . tbh id be happy if that was case google is worring me flexor tendons blah blah blah panicing I am would she not bin limping from the time it happened If it was tendon damage you would think she would be holding it up straight away. Not a day later. It could be glass or shit in there and it swelled up inside 24 hours later which caused her to go lame on it. But it's just a guess. Could be anything really mate.
  8. I remember a lad I used to mooch out with had the same and when he had it X-rayed there were tiny fragments of glass still in there and it had healed over. Horrible stuff glass. Hope you get her sorted ok.
  9. That's why I've never done it before. By the time you've brought the kit and spent hours making them it's not very cost effective but I need something to pass the time and it's something I've always fancied trying.
  10. Sounds lovely that mate. Would love to take you up on the offer but I'm stuck on the sofa for 6 weeks with a broken ankle. I can just about make it for a piss so getting to yours is out of bounds for now. Lol
  11. Gotta do something Navek. I'm going insane here. Used to working 60-70 plus hours a week and being out with the dogs 3 hours every day. This sitting on the sofa shit isn't for me. yea it's not good mate when you been used to been up and out all day... You thought about buying some sheet netting off nelson on here and making yourself some 5 yard stop nets5 yard stop nets? It's gonna take me a week learn to make a purse net. Haha. It's something to think about if I get the hang of it mate. nelson sells 5 yard stop nets in sheet netting mate all you'd need do is run top and bottom lines in and f

  13. Lamping comp? People have lamping comps? Lol
  14. I know of one used just for fox and deer. Was a Hancock too. The fella isn't on here any more though and the dog killed himself after about 4 seasons.

  16. yeah i heard tell of that little bitch,by all accounts really good little mutt im told, did he not embarrass a few of the big fen boys with it,and they classed her for only a lamp dog, thats what i heard I heard similar ?
  17. No worries, this is the company that took over Agouti Nets, a wee bit more expensive but a quick service. Decent quality spun poly as well. Thanks for that. Why do you reccomend 3mm draw cord over 2mm. Just stronger? Is 2" the standard board size to make 4" mesh?
  18. Thanks for the link wideboy. Will check it out. Appreciate that.
  19. That's good of you pal. Thanks a lot. What size rings did you use 1"? I guess I can order rings and spun-poly in bulk for pretty cheap?
  20. Alright folks, I'm looking at making my own purse nets. Considered it before but never really had the time. I'm currently off work with a broken ankle and bored out of my skull so just been watching a YouTube tutorial and figured I might aswell use my time wisely. I've seen the kits on eBay consisting of the twine, mesh board, needle and O-rings for about £30. Are they worth getting or would I be better sourcing the bits separately? Cheers, Gaz
  21. Post in the lurcher section for a better response but I've never seen anyone on here running a deerhound X whippet. How many have you seen? Are you in the UK? Realistically you've gotta find a working deerhound bitch. Then find one what's had a few seasons under its belt. Then find one with an owner who's willing to put a whippet over it.
  22. They don't come about much. Maybe for good reason. You could get a terribly mixed litter. The closest I've seen was the dam to my brindle bitch she was a half cross deer/grey bitch lined with a full whippet. She was a cracking stamp of dog. Looked like a 23" strong whippet. Had the deerhound temperament and would tackle anything. If they threw right you could be onto a winner but I can't see anyone putting a whippet over their working deerhound anytime soon. All the best in your search.
  23. Yep my missus got a letter last year off her bank. Claimed it direct off them. She got just under £1000. I thought it was strange them holding their hands up and offering you to claim but it must work in their favour as opposed to you getting a third party company involved.
