    Woke up to a light frost this morning so got the dogs out hoping to bag something but no such luck. They had a good hunt around but couldn't find anything... So back home for a brew and some grub then nipped out with my hob to see if we could get a couple of bunnys for the pot. Met up with tommy27 who took his whippets... Managed a quick 2... Back home, skinned, gutted and soaking in salt water ready for rabbit and sausage casserole tomorrow. I've missed winter ?

    Well I've been down to King today to check out some new permission of his. There were rabbit warrens everywhere. Literally riddled with them. But the rabbits were really thin on the ground. First warren we got to, the dogs marked, ferret went in and we had a dig to Kings Jill and put one in the bag. I thought "this looks promising". But it wasn't meant to be. Almost every hole we did after that was non productive. The dogs weren't marking and the ferrets weren't interested either. Plenty of signs of fox so that could be part of the problem. I've been working on the roads, permenants nights, 7 nights a week - no scheduled days off. Sometimes 6 hours work, sometimes 20 hours work. No notice or prior information. Text message on the day, start time and finish when the jobs done. Can be in yard at 3pm going Glasgow or Southampton, 8 hours work then travel back. Money is fantastic but it's not a life.     It's bottling it big time, I've given him my number and address and offered to put money down. I've sent him a little video of me rusty and out of training for ages on the pads and he has bricked it. All he says is show me the money, the money will be there when he grows the balls to drive down.     I had a bottle of that talisker Storm last Xmas. Very nice indeed. I'm sure it was a shade over £50 but well worth it. I also liked the Oban 14 year old. That's a nice drop too.

    Just working in a factory mate. Doing maintenance on a production line. Better pay per hour than the roads and a lot more time off. 4 on 4 off so plenty of lamping time ?
