How old would a pup be to put it in a kennel ?? Mine have always gone straight out. Plenty of bedding and a big meaty bone. Start as you mean to go on... Brindle bitch was 6 weeks...

It's not kids round here. It's grown men. Staring people down and then chasing them. There have been a couple spotted where I walk my dogs regular. My stick will come in handy if one of the c**ts tries follow me. Reckon this little black bitch would be all for firing in aswell. She isn't keen on strangers in the dark. Don't know what she would make of a clown. Lol

I don't think you will go wrong with a spaniel mate. If you kennel it on its own from young I don't see why it should be any different to any other dog.

I thought the same. Looks collie bull grey all day long. But you never can be sure. As Katchum says just enjoy the dog. Looks a nice sort. You can see it in his killer eye Lucky that kids still got its fingers if there's bull in there ?

Just to add. Again mine isn't full spaniel, but she is very steady around the house and in the kennel. Never makes a peep unless someone comes into my garden and she goes ape. Very good watch dog and handy to have in the kennel. This could be down to the bull but I've read the spaniels are also decent watch dogs. She's in the house just now chilling with the brindle bitch. Different dog to when in the field. I've spoke to people with spaniels and they say the same as long as the dog gets enough work...

Exactly the reason I got a spaniel cross mate. Was looking for a full spaniel to be honest but this bitch came up needing a home so took a chance on her and glad I did. I've not seen many spaniels bushing, only seen them working on shoots. But Socks off here sent me a few clips of his spaniel and other spaniels working and I would say mine works in a similar manner. Never stops in the field for a second. It's amazing to watch and you keep asking yourself where the energy comes from. Their nose is something else. I thought my lurchers had good noses. Nothing compared to this bitch and

So you want someone to help you gain permission, drive you to the permission in their motor, pay half the diesel and then give you half the rabbits. Where do I sign ?

Like steam trains mate. If it's in it comes out.

A few lads have asked for pics of my bitch and my mates dog side by side so just tried to get a few. Difficult as they don't keep still but best we could get...

Have a look here GazThere's no doubt that would be a belting setup mate but at touching £400 it's alot of coin to risk losing. Depending what you get up to of course.Keep that set up for your perm and the other for when your out dogging mate ?? Yeh would be ideal for that ?

Another one in the bag thanks to the busher just as it was going dark...

Lol I did think about it I bet you pushed her in the nettles just so you had an excuse! Lol I've been rumbled

Not sure where I implied that they are poor lamps. You said you don't trust the quality because they are cheap. So I responded that they are cheap enough to carry a spare. The gamekeeper 120 is plenty of lamp for anyone and not just rabbits. The one issue is the battery life. But I always carry either the DL100 or DL150 in my bag as backup. I will probably get another 120 this winter and then when one dies just swap lamps. They are small enough and lightweight enough. I think this thread proves that there is no "best lamp". We all want different things from a lamp. Buy the new lig

Plenty of lads have posted on here about lightforce letting them down. Lightforce don't quite compare to snap on tools. Lol. The DL120 is a very good beam. The DL170 corded is reported to be even better. You could buy 3 of them for the price of a Lightforce and take a spare out with you. When your lightforce packs in its lamping over. I've always got a couple of LED lamps with me. Just another option for the lad asking.
-
Which of the new LED lamps have you tried fella? I've got 3 and 2 of them haven't got pencil beams. One is too wide for me.

Fair play to you mate trying to find her a good home and not just passing her on to the first person who comes along. She sounds ideal for a young lad just starting out.
-
Can't beat that lads. Nice morning, permission and seeing young dogs put a few away. That's what it's all about.
