  1. Is it members only that can report stuff. If somebody on the site is reporting a shot rabbit as graphic this forum is maybe not for them. P.s saw the picture nothing graphic about it. Hope you wernt asked to take the pic down How many pictures of a shot rabbits head do you need to see? We all know what it looks like without the need to put up picture after picture. Bear in mind your on a public forum for the whole WWW to see.
  2. I'm sure I put a link up sometime ago about Nightvision range finders from China. On that link was a whole range of "unbranded" rifle and Nightvision scopes All available at single purchase unlike bulk buying off alibaba. However..!!!! If you contact a lot of these Chinese suppliers/manufacturers and ask to purchase a sample rather than 20,000 units most will be accommodating. The resemblance of some "unbranded" items and "branded" items is uncanny........cough cough!!..........
  3. This Theoben.20 malarkey is all the rage apparently........ Enjoy Vis
  4. Most councils won't do them for fear of reprisal through the media. "Council kills bees" as a headline I'm guessing, isn't the message they want broadcasting to the misinformed. It's the insecticides used which carry the weight of the law. Particularly where honey bees are concerned.
  5. I like the pot hanger and cooking irons nice one
  6. I have a video somewhere of bumble bees and wasps together in a bird box. In the end up it wasn't co habitation. The wasps just killed the bees and took over the bird box.
  7. It's got nothing to do with air guns so it got shifted.
  8. What are you using Mark and what's the rest of your setup like?
  9. That's a very similar setup to mine. I collect the sawdust when cutting firewood with the chainsaw. I tried chippings from a wood chipper but they were far too coarse. Mines lagged so holds heat fairly well without burning loads of gas. Nowhere near as efficient as the oven but it's something a little different. Optimum temp for a long slow cook is around 160 deg C. Meats can blacken a little but it's no more than you'd get with your oven and most of the time it's just the seasoning or rub.
  10. That thought has gone through my mind! It was agreed in principle a while ago with the old boys son present. He will be taking over affairs. Things may not smell of roses once money is discussed. Particularly if the rest of the family start bickering over the estate. I should have acted once we had discussed it and agreed. That dementia doesn't mess around.
  11. Cold smoke to flavour. Hot smoke to cook. Most fruit woods are good. Beech and chestnut work well. I find oak a bit overpowering. I've been refining my smoker for a while but I hot smoke/cook more than I cold smoke. A large Pork shoulder cooked overnight is an absolute winner. Tidy set up mark
  12. I'm guessing the other thread was locked due to the bitching and allegations. Not for you to start another and continue where you left off. If you have a problem. Take it to PM please.
  13. A nice lump of log. Ring or section from the trunk turned on its side and shoot at the large round face. The end grain. It will need to be pine or Conifer It won't look daft. Lasts and works a treat.
  14. Thanks lads. Things have taken a turn which are going to delay matters. The old boy next door health has deteriorated and he has lost his onions. Dementia is kicking in. I can't get forward until power of attorney is passed to his family.
  15. We keep saying that but I don't think we could organise a piss up in a brewery between us!! It's when work gets in the way of play.
  16. I overlooked that part!!
  17. Nice one lads. I'm looking forward to having a shoot with it Bry
  18. search the web for Argentinian fire pit.
  19. Yes that's a photocell. There should be a simple pcb and transformer in the box.
  20. Looks like an old IR lamp to me. I can't make out on your pic if it's a photocell mounted in that box but it would make sense if it was.
  21. He said it's not there. TC Apologies TC. I didn't read the thread and see you had already put that link up. Strange why it isn't there?
  22. All of your posts will be in this little lot Brewman the hunting life site:www.thehuntinglife.com Copy the full line and paste into the Google search bar.
  23. I don't think a pouch with no holes in would silence the locator too much. It would just save having to put tape over the speaker which is something I have done with every MK3 I've owned. One less thing to fill up with mud and clay.
  24. Looks a nice and tidy piece of leather work. One suggestion. Loose the holes in the cover for the speaker. They are not needed IMO
