Well as it goes Remlap is a name i would look for in a plummer ped and the lass with the Saxon pre fix she used to post on here (keeps is/was her name) and she gave her terriers plenty to do in the field, but work or play with it the plummer is a versatile little terrier and they fit into most ways of life..
  3. And if people saw the piles of bodies and the suffering that some have undergone in the quest for oil they'd not be sitting in their cars with the engines ticking over to keep the heaters on either.....But it keeps cold folk warm eh...
  4. My thanks to you Keith as i'm sure replying to a forum ain't an easy thing to do when your heads all over the place, a sign of a true gentleman and bless you for it mate. What Katchum is sort of asking is,is there a prefix or name before the name of the parents on the ped or even in front of your pups name?. I'd just started posting about stormyboy owning Vandal but the misses wanted to turn the footy over and he's answered you in the time it's taken to finish ,but there a good little terrier you can do all sorts with and iv'e had the best 13 years of terrier ownership with my old lass i could have asked for..The very best of luck with it Gnasher and keep us all updated on the little lads progress ...
  8. My Lady is off with her brother to bury his Dad today,a sorrowful day for some for sure.May it go without to much hurt Keith and may Ruthy sleep in peace..
  9. Cinny's and silvers mate ... Two crows i don't keep birds at the moment,to busy with work and what time i have spare is taken up with terriers at this time of my life but they will be back...
  10. Me giving away a few greenfinches to a fella who knew a gamekeeper got me 12,000 acres to play with my terriers on,but if i tried to do some dogging in with my lot i'd fecking loose it ..
  11. A shooting party pays to be there and good money to,so i recon most shoots if you matched a shoot days money your'd get your freedom...
  12. So do i and some drives he don't want us near because there shooting the next day but they have one drive they have shot twice in one day before so disturbance of a drive sometimes makes a difference and sometimes it don't ,but when it's a mans living on the line that has been disrupted in the past then you do what the keepers say if you want to keep your permission(well i do anyway).A fickle bunch are keepers but if you have an idea of how birds are then you will sort of understand what's allowed and whats not at certain times.
  13. Tool and birds, both things to use to make a living with, ruin, nick or move either one and it's useless to the workman..Just saying and i just see both sides of the fence as iv'e been both sides....
  14. So hares only stick to the open fields and only run where there ment to run?,no hares run out in the open and when the going gets hard they head to cover to loose the chaser.Usually on a shoot it's a maize cover crop and a dog searching for a lost hare in one of those will empty it out and the partridges out on the fields will be put up and off by a dog running a hare across them.A mans job, house and family being fed is on the line mate and as unfare as it sounds poachers and folk with running dogs are a pain in the arse on a shoot..
  15. I know a few self employed keepers who pay out of their own pockets tens of thousands of pounds if not into the hundred thousand pounds or more to stock a shoot for paying customers,if someone has gone on at first light on their own with one dog all cool like your saying is cool and runs a few hares and even takes one for the pot,all is cool and the lovely image of the old poacher is in tact. Then the drives of the shoot start to happen and feck all partridges fly over the guns, onto the next drive as it ain't uncommon for the birds one day not to be there, same again and again and the paying gun
  16. if you walked onto a building site and started nicking tools you would get mob handed giving it large,if you gave it back you'd get a slap at least if not more that bit would be up to you. What i just wrote you and everyone else would agree on and think it fare,so why is it different when you go onto a shoot where you have no right to be and nick the hares, not to sell and make some cash as you maybe would the tools but just for fun or should i call it sport?.Respect is earnt and you going onto a shoot and running hares ain't respecting the keeper or shoot owner to start with so why should you d
  17. Lovely mules and just total cracking isabel redpolls, such a funny little bird and one day there'll be some back in a flight in my garden for sure..
  18. Not a chance have you let her down and everyone else will say the same mate, you have to look after yourself as she would have wanted and sometimes that takes all we have to do such a thing. My brother died a few years back suddenly and he and his lady were both very much loaners, his funeral happened and she never came.In the next few months she didn't answer her phone or reply to messages etc so two of my other brothers went to see her.She was in such a mess she was taken to hospital and never left it as she had stopped looking after herself and she died of septiss with in the week and it was a
  19. Big black chugging dirt air polluting train, how dare you ruin my lungs and my unborn great great great grand childrens lungs. Hey thick twats tell us why your on the roof of a electric train then?.
  20. Well done and the best of luck for the future ,,,,your'll need it now ...
  21. And there you have why ALL the hares are shot on some of my permissions ,..
  22. I can get £4.50 for a hare at the moment and in time that will go up to £8 for fresh or frozen ones,125 x £8 = a good family holiday,a few months rent or what ever a family needs..Just saying and not justifying that it goes on ..
  23. When the ground is to soft to drive on and you've lots of land to cover then leaving them sometimes isn't a option mate, who knows, but if they used to have regular hare shoots where good numbers were shot you have to ask whats happened to make them scarce as they didn't used to be did they so something other than shooting them has happened?.Maybe it's because these days a lot of keepers are just bird feeders who don't seem to have time to trap properly any more even though they have time saving gadgets to use???.
  24. I wasn't trying to be smart or anything it's just how it is...
  25. Could be a number of things, could be when a pup has it's jabs it gets a bit run down as it has been given a small dose of viruses and it needs a bit of time for the body to get over/form immunity to them and getting wet and cold is never fun for any animal be it old or very young,i'd be keeping it warm and making sure it's hydrated as the runs will pull the water out of a pup so make sure it is drinking and if not get a syringe and give doses small but plenty of them,it'll wee out excess and use what it's body needs.Try not to panic to much as pups do get into all sorts of situ's but if the s
