  1. Skycat has IMO the right answer .Judging by the pic of the dog its fine and eating enough as it is .Dont forget the greens side of raw though mate .
  2. What I want to know is- who is going to take his place .The man was a real help with 'Stuff '.Good luck lennard .
  3. Something else to pull out then .lol.
  4. Day out on a local lake by kind invitation. I've fished this water several times so knew what the methods were and wasted no time mixing up a large batch of groundbait with added molasses and a touch of scopex .Fired out 6 tennis ball sized balls on the 30 yard mark, keeping them in a 3 m circle, and set up the feeder rod and pike rig! ..Few casts to the mark until I was happy and clipped up the line with an elastic band. This is preferable to the reel clip as there are a few decent carp in here that would smash the line if clipped tight .6 pound line, inline method feeder to top up the bait be
  5. I think what Kate is saying is that the drive to reproduce can and will over-ride anything you are trying to achieve with an entire dog .Take a pack out of mixed sex and if one of the bitches is in or coming in then forget any hunting.
  6. The hobs we own are only used to bolt rabbits when no nets are required ie-lurchers or shotguns .The bigger hobs do play havoc with nets which is where the jills are used as they usually walk through them .Personally digging has never been a problem for me as i love it .Just as an added extra -we recently used a large hob for dealing with fox cubs to good effect ,bolting them into rabbit nets .
  7. The tight ,white plummage may be deceptive in judging the beak but they could be ravens .How many of you have seen a raven fledgling anyway ?.No doubt someone will track this story and reveal all .
  8. Thick-o alert here but I take it that trap is for ferals John .Cant see a woodie pushing past the non returns but there again! .
  9. I think most of you lads would be surprised at how much bull blood there is in the make up of our pats today. Not many of the well known breeders will admit to it but those they sell to certainly have . .Admittidly most lines are now bred true but its there all the same .IMO ,there is no need what so ever to add bull to a proven line of pats ,it takes several generations to get back to size and for what -a bigger head .Straight bulls have thier place but please leave them out of the pat .
  10. Line it up in the scope and tell her her the fox had it .
  11. nice one Dodsey ,another one gone !
  12. ..........................but not too big so you dont have room around the rest of the pen for the "giblet" line .
  13. Find out what charity it is and approach them about it .They will not be happy that their foxes are in an area where they face control .Legally there is nothing you can do about it but it is legal to control any amount of foxes by legal means .
  14. Pleasing to see the replies agreeing with me for a change ,lol. The next question is what age would you cull?
  15. We all know there are too many ferrets bred every year just for the sake of keeping the jill healthy and in the absence of a vacetomised hob .The choice I make and an emotional one for some of you is to cull what is not needed from the litter at an early age .I understand this will cause some reaction but its 100% better than some fates awaiting unwanted ferrets, poor conditions ,unworked .If we were a bit tougher on stock in general then only a few surplus animals would live out their lives untested . Foxdropper .
  16. Nicely done .Of all the fresh water fish ,perch are probably the hardest to target ,around us anyway .Pike will take the smallest fish offered and worm is a anything goes bait .
  17. If the pad is split ,then follow the instructions .If its sliced leaving some pad barely attached ,you need to assess whether or not there is blood supply to it or whether it needs trimming off .When trimmed follow same instructions . Personally ,this only my opinion mind ,I would clean it thoroughly and pack it with sudacream then cover it with a dressing then bandage but not tight .Change every day ,cleaning with warm salt water ,dry and re-apply the cream and cover .
  18. Im afraid your discription dosnt help much .A pic would say more .IMO.
  19. Shes obviously not what you want josh .Bring her round and I'll take her off your hands .lol.F.F.S STOP WORRYING .
  20. Cubbing dens are usually dug out rabbit spots [down our way anyhow].The vixen digs a tube straight in to a chamber where the cubs are born .When disturbed, the cubs simply disappear up these tubes where NO terrier can follow without digging on .This time of year with well grown cubs ,the vixen lies out mostly, going to the den to feed them and but not lay in with them .Where theres a lot of holes or seperate buries ,cubs will be spread out .If an earth gets too smelly with carrion ,they will move to another. As cubs get older they too spend less and less time underground .Digging them is not
  21. We used to have "giblets"on gibbets all round the woods ,paid accordingly too .No matter which way the wind blew ,you could smell them . Pics been on before but its the only one I have . Only thing we were told not to hang was cats ,only because the head keeper knew for a fact it was only a matter of time before the one from the house appeared ,strung up with bulging eyes .
