  1. We used to put a big bear in the back of a long wheel base hilux using two yoeman boards that went in under the quad .Short wheel bases need the tailgate down and quad strapping in .Up over the wheel arches and your in .
  2. Bales deserves a thread of its own .
  3. With all due respect ,bales are a far cry from rocks .At the very least its a wait until the farmer has finished milking to use the loader .We do bales here with never a hint of worry using the belman .I wouldnt be feeling the same in rock nor would those entering regularly i suspect .Not looking for argument ,just observation.
  4. Nice one Martin .Hopefully youll get out a bit more now as i know youve been busy .Think i know where you were .
  5. If the coucil cut the hedge ,verge then its a certainty that the road is signed over .
  6. Would the collar not be a big hindrance in the rocks and cause more stucks than it would create rescues .Just a thought .Again hats off to those working the rock ,not for me .i like to think there is least a chance of a dig even in the deepest earths .Nearst we get is an old pile of patio slabs dumped years ago.
  7. Very good thread .Lads that that work the soil places will have no conception of rocks me included .Tbh would scare the crap out of me entering a dog into any place with rock over the top .Hats off to those doing it .
  8. With the tail docking ban died the art of it .3 days old ,1 inch left .
  9. Breed standards and kc aside,if the dog aint worked its the owners fault and no one elses .If a dog becomes too valuable to work it is a mere shadow of its ancestry .No reason whatsoever why conformation cannot go hand in hand with work .To value a dog for its looks only is what ruined the Dinmont .Work has its own conformation .
  10. Nice one dev ,that looks neat too.Do you use this kit .
  11. Any respect he had on here is now dwindling fast lol.
  12. Barryvox as expensive as b and f box though aint it mate .
  13. Not for a puppy though eh mate. I agree with everyone starting there pups in nice and easy earth's and where you can listen to every move the pup makes but for me I like a bit of range in an earth not to deep cause when the stuff moves I like to see if the young pup can move with it, I always like to look for a bit more than a straight forward dig and I like to keep them at it , I'm not one for bubble wrapping my dogs But your not saying you start a pup ,first time in a rangey place are you mate .Only a fool lets a pup into a deep place intentionally .The object is to let it see what the da
  14. Edge and wax ortovox zoom + £165.00. 3 antenae ,fastest pieps on the market according to them .
  15. Back to original post .i find it a bit worrying that lads cant pick out a puppy spot or is it they dont want to admit using one .It neednt be a small place just easily workable .The main criteria is not tight so a rabbitty spot out .Dont start on cubs for that reason .
  16. Best of luck in whatever you choose mate .Many on here and across the country will have endured the same but come through it .My gripe is that youngsters in general these days are quitters and i labelled you as such .Again good luck.
  17. Not the unscrewing to worry about mate,if damp gets in thats game over as the connection relies on the battery touching that copper piece in the body of it .Damp shorts it out ,tape water proofs it in theory but tape well.I still use one of these on occasion .
  18. In your opinion mate what makes a top class bitch and what in your opinion relagates her to a decent bitch .
