Without repeating what has already been said in this thought provoking post......all responsible posters on this site MUST stop and think before putting up any pictures that could be potentially used against us by those who seek to destroy our way of life. Lets get real...........there are "sleepers" monitoring this site to glean useful information and sensational pictures to further their own misguided intentions.....which ultimately will return to haunt us. Agitators there certainly are...... and these will try and get other forum members to talk about illegal acts, again for amunition to us

To gas rabbits using Aliminium Phosphide requires the operator to have recieved training in the application techniques. To be able to purchase Aliminium Phosphide you will need to produce a certificate showing you have recieved adequate training. I see since answering your post you have edited it to read smoking instead of gassing...... what is it you want to know exactly? Rolfe.

Liver Fluke is a parasitic worm that lives in the bile ducts before penetrating the liver. It is common in most grazing animals (sheep and cattle) also.

I think we are all in agreement that the hunting ban is an ill thought out piece of legislation, but like it or not we all have to abide by the law whether we like it or not, or should try to at least.. Certain people posting on here obviously are carrying on with what they have always done......regardless of what cruelty they may inflict by hiding behind the banner F*CK THE BAN. There are people "planted" on this site whose sole aim is to obtain pictures and information and to aggitate members to the point of disclosing information that they can use to further there aims in destroying our wa

A bit of a story & a question
Rolfe replied to Little Butch's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I agree they look like cattle or pig feed pellets..........not rodenticide.........! Rolfe. -
Wood Anenome ?
-
Yes .........could be a breeding stop as the doe rabbit will seal the kits in the chamber until she returns to feed them. look and see if it gets opened up again at some point. Rolfe.

Cracking picture............don't let snareman see the state of that fenn though........you'll get a b*llocking

Each to there own of course.......but i have to disagree on the height of the cage scenario. My feral pigeon cage is only 300 mm (1ft) high and i think it works better for several reasons. Firstly, with the greater height on the bob-wires there is too much "give" in them and i have known ferals push the wires apart enough to squeeze through and escape.Secondly, the trapped birds cannot fly about inside and spook incomming birds from the trap, the birds can only walk about which looks quite natural as if they are just feeding. But as i said........each to their own and if it works for you then

Yes i agree with John..........if you can't use a Larsen then build a well concealed hide, wear cammo gear and sit very still. incomming birds will spot any movement a mile off. A good tip is to get yourself in position before first light and wait to ambush the birds as they leave the roost looking for carrion. Often a pigeon laid breast uppermost with plenty of loose feathers scattered about, will prove more of a draw than a rabbit.......far more visible. Rolfe.

Is it possible to snare the wheat fields without causing too much damage?........does the footpath run BETWEEN the fields and the rabbit buries? Rolfe.

I am trying out some new squirrel cages with a different type of bait set up. Hazel nuts hanging on a wire. I am halfway through a trapping trial..........and so far have had 23 greys in 5 cages over a two week period. They have a mouse bait tray insitu as well for conventional peanut baiting but so far have not needed to bait them. The hazel nuts on the wire stops the alternative bait of peanuts being taken overnight by the wood mice.

For all my fellow mole trappers out there.......lets see some pictures of unusual colouration in moles. This one was an apricot colour......i have had a few of these but never yet caught a white one. Anyone else have some unusual mole catches?

You have just answered your own question Lloydy.........you never mentioned you had just changed their diet you muppet Next time leave fresh meat as well as dried food and do the change over gradually.......you will not have a problem. Over a period of a week or so.....decrease the fresh meat and increase the dried food. Do you not get in chat anymore Lloydy..........I miss you Rolfe.

Nice one mate........! Just to really cheer you up........i had a similar job last season and cage trapped the mother in the roof and caught two youngsters as well. A few days later i was called back as the client could hear noises behind the fascia boards.......to cut a long story very short i took another four kits from the roof space.........so be prepared Rolfe.

Try fresh rabbit or something Lloydy.........that may help...........sometimes they require a change of diet during pregnancy. But leave dried food in as well. As long as they have fresh water they should come to no harm.

The RSPB warden has no rights to enter private land period..... I would write a strongly worded letter of complaint to whoever is in charge of this moron and leave them in no doubt that should it happen again you will bring a prosecution for trespass. Rolfe

Bedlington/Whippet cross.......good net dog when rabbiting.

The Anchor pins (one at each end of the net) are to keept the net taught after the setting pegs are positioned. Push one anchor pin into the ground after the net has been run out, and work back towards the other anchor pin fixing setting pegs every 5 yards or so keeping the head and foot lines tight as you do so. When you reach the other anchor pin pull the net tight and bush it firmly into the ground. This is when setting nets in the daytime. I follow a different procedure at night as we usually work in pairs, and i set the net whilst the helper lets the nets off the anchor pins a hank at a ti

Hello mate, hamstring is above the knee, at the back of the thigh, basically below your bum. Calf muscle strains or probs usually hurt in the middle of your calf, any lower and it could be tendons or Achilles. I'm no quack but I've had all the feckers. Cheers, D. Thanks D, Yes it is deffinately in the middle of the calf muscle and it went with a distinct "pop" i am limping around like a good-un this morning but it will hopefully resolve itself in time. I was just concerned in case it was something serious, but i'll give it a couple of days to see if it eases any........cheers mate.
