  3. Checking the mole traps tonight and had the added bonus of a load of field mushrooms for my breakfast.....can't be bad eh........!
  4. I am not sure what they are tess..........but i will check with Paul Daniels to see if he recognises them.
  5. Not for very long without feeding them In a fridge they should keep up to a week easily if it is cold enough.......But if you want to keep them any longer i suggest you freeze them.
  6. Try paunching a few rabbits in the vicinity of the cage trap......just to get them used to finding food in that area, after a while they should be turning up on a regular basis in search of a free meal. If you place your bait (rabbit is good) in a scrape in the ground UNDER the cage behind the treadle plate (if that is the type of cage you are using) then it should entice them inside. But like all trapping techniques.........some days they work........some days they don't. Good Luck Rolfe.
  7. Another satisfied customer..........yeah with practice you can make it work in most soils if you back-fill the trap using the soil from a nearby mole hill........Well done anyway. Regards Rolfe. hardly rolfes way , this method has bin used in the states for years to set out o sight traps , search the web for moletrapping in the usa and there loads of stuff, i showed it in my moling tape a few years ago and gave credit to the yank trappers , why do people claim stuff as thier own ideas , when they just copy someone elses ? bloody dog

Well just look at the dogs chuffing expression Tracey.........it looks a bad arsed little fker. It is saying to itself......."Just wait till you let me loose again........I got a good game we can play" Regards Rolfe.x
  15. Checking a dozen wires today and removed this rather large rabbit (Top in Picture) it weighed just over five and a half pounds. When Snareman was developing the "Breakaway" rabbit snare he encountered problems with large rabbits opening up the S link.........and consequently modified the link to be able to hold these larger rabbits .........but still release the non-target species. In trials the snares were being pulled open by these exceptional rabbits........so these big buggers really do exist.
  16. Can anyone identify this moth please...........same moth...... just one picture had flash on. On my kitchen window tonight.
  17. I used to keep a journal for many years.......I only had to open it at any page and start to read and the memories of that particular day would come flooding back. I still keep a record of large bags, things of interest......etc. But i am too busy to actually record every single outing. I do an awful lot of writing at times (take that which way you like) and i find that the old journals are a valuable source of information.......even down to the weather conditions of a particular day month or year. I would recommend that all budding authors should record the early years of their hunting lives,
  18. It's never easy losing a close and loyal companion.......Nothing wrong with shedding tears mate........I do every time I have to lose one of mine.......It is the worst part of keeping dogs........sorry to hear about your sad loss. Regards Rolfe.
  19. Not a problem if they are just foraging.........probably just after some fresh meat. If they set up home though they can be a problem. Regards Rolfe.
  20. Well done Stubby.........busmans holiday for you then.
  21. Three dozen Mk 1 Fenns........bloody hell.......keep hold of them mate if they are in good nick.

  23. Wow......green with envy here........super condition those traps are! Ditch or OTC.........Will tell you about the different jaw designs.
  24. Impossible mate.........but fk I would love to see it
  25. Interesting question.........someone will come up with the answer i'm sure. Last night I had a funny dream: I dreamt I was wide awake......but when I woke up I was fast asleep
