Cheers Malt........yes it was a good couple of days..........and as you say ..........a good start to the season.

Today we completed the second day of our rabbit contract and took a further 18 bunnies from about 6 small warrens. They bolted well and we missed a few from unseen bolt holes and the ferrets killed in a couple of times.....but we had no long lay-ups. Once again we finished the day with a nice bag of rabbits........and a nice bag of apples as well. The dog worked well and caught a few rabbits that slipped the nets...........the long net halted the others in their tracks.

This is one of mine from Phil.......Beddie/Whippet/Grey..........about 22-23 inches......best rabbiing and net dog i have ever owned. But as always........you pays your money your take choice. Rolfe

Stubby..........if i can get right up to the nest i prefer the oil-based spray can..........kills instantly and i can remove the nest. But if its hard to get at ............then good old Ficam D and the pump applicator with extension lance is what i use. Rolfe.

Just trying some 6oz nylon for the first time........not that impressed to be honest. I'll stick to my 10oz........they are far better suited to the job. Frank........yeah know Horton/Hackleton quite well.

Well it has been a good start to the fereting season for me today......the first 2 day contract of the year and we took 25 bunnies from just a few large warrens. Back tomorrow to finish the job weather permitting.........but NO signs of mixy on this job which pleased me a lot. God it was good sport........no lay-ups......all the rabbits bolted cleanly and were either purse netted, long netted or taken by the dog if they slipped the nets. We only lost one rabbit all day so i can't really complain. Also i had the added bonus of a bag full of pears and apples from the orchard we were working in.

Well......I have got a full two days rabbiting starting tomorrow.......the first of the seasons contracts.......i am hoping for a large bag...........and if we have a good as day as the boys.........then that will be a good start to the season. Well done to the boys Tracey ....yet again. I'll hopefully have some action pictures for you tomorrow myself all being well. Regards Rolfe.

Was called out to treat a wasp nest in a strange location............on the arm of a settee that was stood on its end in an outside barn.........Sorry it's not a very good picture......but it was taken on my phone and the lens is a bit scuffed.

Well I always thought you talked a load sh*t Lass...........This has just proved it though Still got torn up newspapers hanging on a hook in our outside privy.............was halfway through a good article and the page I want has been used Must have a look in the bucket.........it'll be in there somewhere. Ian..........put the ferret cage at a low level so dog can sniff right up to the cage wire and go nose to nose with the ferrets........they will soon get used to each other.........always works for me. My beddie whippet and the ferrets quite happily work with each other and i have never had a problem in any way over many years of working dogs and ferrets together. Regards Rolfe

Yes i agree entirely John..........We are being targeted big time at the minute and i have deleted several more today. We have to keep in mind a lot of younger people on here (and older ones too) are going to be disgusted and upset by the images that are appearing. So....... THL MEMBERS..........Please quickly report any Porn or spam posts to a MOD or use the report button so we can delete the people and posts concerned as quickly as possible. Rolfe.

Yes Lass.........lot of old cows where I live.........most are not as good looking as that one though..........But most will lay down for a picture...... if you ask nice. Rolfe

Today i delivered my Nephews first ever ferret to him to get him started on what i hope will be a lifetime's passion for ferrets and ferreting. Along with a bundle of nets to get him started........he is already looking forward to his first days out rabbiting this season. I gave him the biggest, daftest and easiest to handle ferret you could imagine, one i had just inherited from a friend actually.........but one of my breeding originally. He and his dad will accompany me on the first few outings so they can grasp the basics.........then they will be off and running on their own permission. I
