  1. He looks like the perfect digging dog, nice and strong without being overly big, hopefully hes passed on his genes to the pups mate...
  2. Waz if I seen that kick out as I pulled up I'd think I'd died and gone to heaven... , you are priveliged to have such freedom for digging. Nice type of dog aswell mate...
  3. Found another set of cubs this morning, seen 4 for definite but there could be more. That's 5 sets that I know of around our small town, these were a touch bigger than the ones I've been taking photos of and the earth is in a rape field, there was the remains of a big bird where they were playing, it looked like a swan but surely would be too big for their mother to tackle?
  4. I've a bitch here thats not yet 8 months old and has shown a strong instinct to go to ground, but IMO once a terrier gets to a certain age or starts to show an instinct to go to ground it should be kept on a lead around earths, but accidents do happen. In regards to young terriers being loose while another dog is being dug to, I don't believe in that one bit, and is a bad as doubling up IMO...
  5. PS- one of the farms nexto it has chickens, me and my mate had a 10 foot dig to a vixen on the next field to where these cubs are about 5 years ago that had been taking hens, however the farmer said these cubs are safe there...until his hens start going missing again...
  6. The spot where these are you wouldn't believe they are there, right between two farms, with a horse field above them and a field of bullocks next to them but they're totally unfazed. I took my lass and the bearn down to see them but like you say the cubs never showed, typical...
  7. The first pic about 4pm and the second pic about 7pm. My mate has been down at all different times though and seems to think they're out all day, especially with the warm weather. We've seen no sign of the vixen yet, it's just nice to see them about in the (over-dogged)area they are...
  8. Here's a couple of pics I've took over the last few days of a litter, me and a couple of mates have been watching them. The farmer reckons hes seen 7 but from what we've seen theres 3. They look in fine fettle.
  9. Good on you mate for the heads up, hopefully all this shit will pass over before the new season starts...
  10. Yes, the handle spins onto it, then once it's right in I'll tighten the loose nut to the welded nut, it's keeps the handle straight and stops it from coming loose, I just carry an adjustable spanner in the bag...
  11. AA the roundmouth has footplates, the soles of my boots would be short lived if it didn't. Here's a pic...
  12. He doesn't make them to order, it was just a one off favour he did me, I gave him the materials and he put it together. Go to any welder/fabricators near you and tell them what you want and I'm sure they'll do you one.
  13. This is my kit, all fits into one backpack, got a mate at work who does a bit of welding to do them, best £20 I've ever spent...
  14. Two piece's are ideal for the dodgy spots away from prying eyes, I wouldn't be without mine...
  15. I'd move to France, buy a decent sized house, live comfortably with a kennel full of terriers and dig to my heart's content without looking over my shoulder...
  16. Couple I've got... Bitch pup- Dog pup-
  17. Are we talking about dogs for digging or just general ratting/rabbiting dogs bbb?
  18. Is there a March one then? I'll put a pic on.
  19. If the bitch's line is working and throwing workers then go to a dog of her her breeding. Why change or interefere with a line that is already producing what you want?
  20. I didn't realise there was a photo comp going Where is it?
  21. half sister Through the sire? She looks very similar to the litter sister of the sire of your dog.
