  4. We used to catch 4/5 tench from 3/5 lb at Wellington cp, £3 for a day ticket , as we left the Thames valley they'd just stocked the 40 acre lake with 2000 2lb carp I think, last I heard it was full of 30/40s and £1500 to join syndicate. Sad really when you think how many youngsters could've fished the place. The burghfield gravel pits were £1.50 I think and we could fish all night if we wanted and we had enough autan mosquito repellant, old lady used to collect. Again a carp water possibly a syndicate.
  5. It can certainly spoil it end up deciding whether to fish absurdly heavy or get snapped off regularly, I've started kids off on a whip and landed 8lb carp whilst letting them bag up on tiddlers, but I don't know where I'd take them for tench tbh, bit young for the river but will find then a carp free water next year , they're having a taster on the fly fishing atm...but I'm not spunking £300 on them until they beg to go, rather play football most days lol,

  17. I used to go fill furnaces with the oldman as a kid and we'd set up a range in the foundry and do some plinking, then we were fortunate enough to have a decent garden and I was away with 410 and airguns, access is the hard part , I got my boys a gun but currently a small garden , where do you take it and all new builds etc are pretty tight on space , so it a club or perm and the time to get to either , so I'd say it's accessibility to land and or finaces for many. I'm seriously contemplating join a syndicate shoot , not for shooting game but for access to the countryside , bit of beating and s
