  1. How can you compare Greyhounds and rabbits ? Greyhounds have been domesticated and selectively bred by humans for hundreds, if not thousands, of years; they have been bred for coursing and racing, and in racing have been bred to excell over different distances, such as sprinters and stayers. Rabbits are wild and subject only to natural selection,(of course I'm not talking about pet rabbits, just the ones we hunt,LOL !), So you can't use one as an example for the other ! Are rabbits faster, fitter or fatter in different parts of the country ? Quite possibly, but not to an extent that it should
  2. If I can stop laughing at the stupidity of the question, I'll try and give a straight answer, just in case you are not taking the piss and realy need to know !! LOL !! How about...breeding...training...feeding...conditioning...kenneling, just to start with ??? Cheers.
  3. I can't believe there is ten pages of arguing who's got the fastest RABBITS ! LOL! Surely ANY decent dog will take ANY rabbits on ANY Land ???? Cheers.
  4. I doubt anyone seriously gets a 29" dog in just for rabbits, but you gotta admit, those ole' pencil neck Deer X's look good ! LOL ! Cheers.
  5. I have a 23" bitch and a 29" bitch. The little one is definately the better rabbit dog, but that doesn't mean the big 'un isn't a decent rabbiter aswell ! They are both "allrounders" and each doe's some things better than the other, so they make a decent team. I have no hesitation taking the big'un lamping, even though it's not the reason she was brought in for. Cheers.
  6. According to some on here; pure collies, beddies, staffies, etc., have no problem with rabbits, so I'm sure a 29" deer/grey could catch one or two !! LOL !! Cheers.
  7. Well, that just goes to show I'm never to old to learn !! LOL !! Reading that, it seems as if some black & tan breed pups keep their mothers immunity longer than other breeds, so should be vacinated later, if I'm reading the article correctly. Cheers.
  8. The prophet Mohamed said all black and tan Salukis "had the devil in them" !!! He was just as stupid as your mates vet !! Cheers.
  9. Depends what type of hernia and how severe it is. Most pups make a full recovery from a hernia, with the right vetinary treatment. Cheers.
  10. I think I'd be more worried about the traffic and the dog getting knocked down, than skinned pads ! Cheers.
  11. Two year old, doing the business, with a trial !! £300 is a snip !!! People pay that for a pup !! Cheers.
  12. Reminds me of this lad, same sort of breeding; Unfortunately killed in action at a young age. Cheers.
  13. What posts are you reffering to ? I can only see one reply that was someones attempt at humour. Every other post is commiserating with the girl. Cheers.
  14. No matter how old you are, or how long you've had dogs, it's still gut wrenching to lose a dog, BUT, it is, unfourtunately, part of the game ! Blaming the bloke who took you out won't realy help, you will meet pleanty of dicks in the dog game ! Have a think about it when you are feeling a bit better, and get another dog and start again ! Good luck to you Cheers.
  15. There are feral goat herds near me, but they are usualy culled by shooting. I've never heard of them being caught by dogs. I've spoken to lads in Australia and New Zealand, and they reckon goats are very easy for a dog, even the big Billies, and most lads avoid them or break their dogs to them. Perhaps you can comment on them, Revmix ? Cheers.
  16. Rats, mink, and at one time, otters and badgers. Cheers.
  17. Youneed to be a donator to sell dogs...and put it in the right section, i.e. "livestock for sale". Cheers.

  19. I have two books about pig hunting with dogs in New Zealand, as new condition. "Tell Them I've Gone Pig Hunting" Hard Cover; "Chasin' Bacon" Soft Cover; £35 posted, for the two. Cheers. SOLD !!!!
  20. They're very good, light weight... but WAAAAAY to expensive ! I don't mind the extra weight of the lead-acid battery, when you can get them for about a fiver !! LOL !! Cheers.
  21. Theres a DVD about "Jerry" the coursing dog, and on it is what looks like a pure Saluki running a daytime fox; the fox suddenly stops and turns to face the dog; the dog hits the brakes, starts back peddling and the fox saunters off !! LOL !! Cheers.
  22. I'm quite certain that NO ONE is crabbing the lad for his night out and excellant catch. I think what some people are saying is "don't draw attention to yourself" !! Cheers.
  23. Are you talking about changing the complete head ? Cheers.
