    Watching the Pedigree Dog programme on TV last night, it appears the KC has banned sibling matings and parent to offspring matings. All the vets that were interviewed agreed it shouldn't be done. I don't know if the same would apply to Lurchers, as maybe Pedigrees are way to close bred to start with ?? Cheers.

    Did anyone watch the programme on tv last night about Pedigree Dogs ??? The part that should interest anyone contributing to this thread was the bit about how the KC have changed the shape of the Bulldogs skull out of all recognision, in only 100 years !!! By selective breeding. Surely if this could be achieved in such a relatively short time; then the "Spitz" type skull could be changed to a "running dog" type skull, in THOUSANDS of years of selective breeding ??? Cheers.

    I've got a Deer/Grey 1st cross bitch. She's a big'un, 29". Maybe I got a good'un, as she turns very tight and catches rabbits day and night !Her first hare she over shot by a mile, but learned VERY quickly and sticks like glue now. I've had most crosses and pures, and I can rate the Deer cross with the best of them ! Cheers.

    So, lets get back to dogs !!! I've had the pleasure to see African Wild Dogs pass thru' from Africa to Saudi Arabia, to Egypt. I shouldn't say it was a pleasure, it was just because I was there ! As far as I know, these dogs are as fast as any breed, but hunt in a pack, and run for miles on their prey! They are classed as "canines", but don't inter breed with dogs ! So, Pointless, are they a different breed, as you suggest ?? Cheers.

    Well. your sitting watching, Pointless, and have certainly sucked me in ! So kudo's to you ! I'm a retired Aircraft Engineer, but how could I explain heavier than air flight to a savage ??     I've got two "Working Dogs". They are kenneled, they work, and they are treated like heroines ! I also have, in my house, two "pet" dogs; they get fed,excersised and looked after with the same intensity as my working dogs. If you keep a dog , weather pet or worker, they deserve the same attention , feeding, excersise, and housing !! Cheers.

    As with everything on here... there is TWO sides to every story !! We usualy only get to hear ONE side, though ! Then the "name & shame" brigade come on ! K100, if you have written permission from the farmer, go and talk to him, explain that it's nowt to do with you ! One thing that confuses me though, is the part about the shoot !! I can't see ANY shoot being happy about a load of young'uns on the land with air rifles ! Seems like there is a bit more to this tale than is actualy being told......... Cheers.
