  1. The KC state a dog has to have two decended testicles,or will be disqualified. A lot of Lurcher judges check for this, including myself, but I've never seen a dog disqualified at a Lurcher show for not being "complete"! If a dog had everything else going for it, and was, in my opinion, the best in the ring, then I would pick it. I there were two dogs that I couldn't realy split, then a "complete" dog would win over a dog that wsn't "complete".Having only one, or no testicles, dosen't, in my mind affect a dogs working ability, in fact, one of the best dogs around just now had his un-decended te
  2. Male Harris Hawk missing since Tuesday 7th Feb. Last seen between Walbottle and Lemington, Newcastle area. Has blue leg ring, bell and flourescent, short jesses. Any info, please PM me. Cheers.
  3. What are you guys on ??? "apart from the shit the run looks clean" !!! The run is NOT clean...it's full of shit !!! If the guy has time to take photos and put an ad up, surely he has time to clean the shit up ???? Cheers.
  4. What sort of person would put pics like that up where people can see them ? And if that's one days shit for a seven month pup, I'd like to see what it's getting fed !! More like a weeks worth ! A fcuking disgrace... no wonder Lurcher owners get a bad name !! Cheers.
  5. How about an under 23" and an over 23" ROUGH COATED races...and give the REAL Lurchers a chance ?? LOL !! (tongue in cheek, before all you Non-Ped and Greyhound owners jump all over me !). Cheers.
  6. What difference does the colour of a dogs nose Make ????? Cheers.
  7. That would be 3/8 Beddy - 5/8 Greyhound, wouldn't it ? Sounds good to me !! Cheers.
  8. I remember when Lurcher racing was some thing for working Lurchers to do in the summer months, and wasn't taken to seriously; but now it seems there are purpouse bred "Lurchers", for racing only, and never actualy see any work, These dogs seem, in the main, to be Non-Ped Whippets and unregistered Greyhounds. If people want to take it so seriously, why not race these dogs, out of traps, against their peers, at organised Whippet or Greyhound tracks ? Cheers.
  9. At the Whippet Racing Clubs that I attend, all the workers and organisers, (handicapper, trap man, starter, judges, etc.), run their dogs !! If they didn't the clubs wouldn't exist !! Racing isn't like showing, it's not one mans opinion on what is the prettiest dog ! It's the fastest dog on the day, no matter WHO owns it. Cheers.
  10. http://www.thebwra.co.uk/cgi-bin/geneal.pl?op=tree&index=4343&gens=5&db=bwra.dbw Cheers.
  11. Doe's it matter ? Someone will come on and say the dog "jacked", no matter how good it was ! If it was the real "Jerry", then it was a very good dog ! Cheers.
  12. To say they have no drive, well, that makes me wonder about the Dobernan you have had. As I keep saying, they SHOULDN'T be in OUR lurcher blood, but they are good dogs in their own right ! Tango and Bruce; Cheers.
  13. Cookie... I was talking about FERRETING, I never mentioned DEER, the more I read your posts, the more I worry !! I will not reply to anything you say from now on...I think you are a wrong 'un !! I may be wrong, but I won't take that chance !! Cheers.
  14. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear, (to you), in my post; I'm not a ferreter, I don't own ferrets, and my dogs NEVER work with ferrets, even though I enjoy a days ferreting. If I had a dog that could be called of "the hunt in full flight with a simple NO !" Then it wouldn't be in my kennel for long. It's desire, drive and instinct would not be what I wanted in a working dog. Cheers. Why You have out of control dogs do you have any bidablitly in your dogs or does your desire equals unruly dogs. You can have a dog with strong prey drive and instinct but still have total co
  15. Yea Millet, it was the fert's first time out, I'm sure it will improve, but as I replied to Tomo, the post was a bit tongue in cheeck, just to illicit a few replies. Cheers.

  19. Tomo, was the "sleeping ferret" passed on to a "good pet home" ?? LOL !! I know what you mean mate... my post was just a bit "tongue in cheeck"; I've done a bit of ferreting , but like terrier work, I'd rather be walking than digging !! Cheers.
  20. Now, I've had running dogs for far more years than I care to remember, and I know there are great dogs, good dogs, average dogs and bad dogs, but I've never realy been in to ferrets, although I enjoy ferreting ! A few years ago I got my brother a ferret from a top class guy, "Silverhob", from this site. It was a "Black Eyed White" jill, and turned out to be, (in my brothers opinion), an excellent worker ! It recently had to be replaced, so I got him a well bred polecat hob, anyhow, we had it out today and it was worse than useless !! Now, this is where I show my ignorance of ferrets....... I
  21. Weimaraners are excellent dogs in their own right; but I can't honestly see what they would add to a Lurcher, that other, more recognised crosses can . Cheers.
  22. If a dog doesn't come straight back when the lamp goes off........it's NOT a lamping dog !! LOL !! Cheers.
  23. Haven't you got anything that can stud his bitch for him, Rio ? If you know him and he's genuine. Cheers.
  24. Somehow, I don't think you are going to be inundated with offers ! Cheers.
