I could understand keeping a Rottie or Dobie as a guard dog to protect my running dogs, property, family, etc; but for it to KILL my other dogs isn't just an accident....... It's bad managment, mate ! Sorry for your loss, but you had better learn quick what you keep in your yard. Cheers.

My bitch Delta is 1/2 Greyhound, 1/4 Beddy, 1/8 Deerhound, 1/8 Whippet. If anyone asks her breeding I just say "Lurcher x Lurcher". If anyone wants a more in-depth answer, I say "Beddy X", as she has thrown more to the Beddy side than the other breeds in her make up. My other bitch, Lima, is 1/2 deerhound, 1/2 Greyhound. If anyone asks; she is a "Deer X", it would be a bit daft saying she was a "Greyhound X" ! LOL ! But as others have said, who cares what they are, as long as they do the job ? Cheers.

They have 4/5/6 dog heats in Whippet and Greyhound racing here, and I think up to 8 dog heats in Greyhound racing in the US and Oz, and "fighters", "turners", whatever you want to call them, aren't tolerated ! If lurcher racing is as serious as some seem to take it; it shouldn't be tolerated there, either. Cheers. -
Well thats just made me feel a right dick........thanks.... Charts...........Poaching b*****d... Scot....."Mon the craws"..... "Poacher" ? Moi ? Cheers

I was beating for the local pheasant shoot, with my Lurcher bitch, the guns were lined up, and we walked towards the end of the first copse we were to beat. when a rabbit lifted. The 'keeper said "slip your dog", so I did. she missed the rabbit but up popped two roe ! She ran them the full length of the gun line to the next copse, where she (un)luckily missed them. At the lunch break, one of the guns wives couldn't understand why no one had shot the deer !! She thought it was part of the days shoot !! LOL !! Cheers.

Let me ask you a few questions; By my reckoning, (from the information on your web ste), the sire would have been around 12 months old and the dam around 15 months when they were mated, Is this correct ? You state, on here and on your site, that the parents are "good workers" What work had they done at such a young age and in such a short time, for you to consider them "good workers" ? Was this the bitches first season ? When do you intend to mate her again ? You are offering the dog at "stud". He has neither proved himself at work or by his offspring, so what qualities do -
Asking what's the best "allrounder" is like asking how long is a piece of string !! You'll get a hundred different answers, as everyone has their own favorite type. The best bet is to try and find a litter where both parents have been good "allrounders", whatever their breeding. Get a pup from that litter, give it the best feeding, kenneling, conditioning, training and entering....... and hope for the best !! Cheers.
