  1. I've fished the shore and boat, and it's unbelievable. I've only hunted pig with dogs in NZ, The lads I know shoot deer, haven't heard of them dogging them; that don't mean it isn't done, though. Cheers.
  2. tell you what charts,, the corromandle, is a stunning place,,, did you go to hot weater beach,?? Yes mate, the bach we had was there. You just scrape a hole in the sand and you have a hot water pool in no time !!. Went to one of the hunters cabins in the Urewera when we were out pig hunting. The government provides them for hunters to use is you get stuck up there when the weather comes in. Cheers.
  3. You'll love it in Nz, or Oz. I've been to both a few times. Hunted around Tokaroa and Taupo, and stayed in a bach on the Coramandel for the fishing. Anyone wanting to hunt down there can do it thru' the professional guides, or just contact lads on the net, or call into any of the hunting shops, they will put you in touch with the local Hunting Clubs, most towns have a club. I'm certain Taupo has a Pig Hunting Club. Cheers.
  4. It's 6 mile from the station to the show field, them young'uns should be able to jog that in about 20 minutes !! LOL !! Good call Bear, for fixing them up with a lift ! Cheers.
  5. I don't usualy say "nice dog mate", but..... nice dog mate !! Cheers.
  6. You say you're going to be racing with it ? Is that secondry to hunting, or the primary use for the dog ? If it's the primary use, then you are wasting your time with a Collie X and need a sighthound saturated dog, unless you don't mind being beaten all the time. Cheers.
  7. What you in court for ; murder. rape, arson or something not so serious like shoplifting, motoring offence ? Solicitors are "horses for courses", try your C.A.B., far better than asking on here ! Cheers.
  8. Great job mate ! Just one observation; you should have a gap between the bottom of the wood and the flagstones, for washing out and to stop the water getting on the wood and rotting it. Cheers.
  9. Your to old now to be taking on pup's  I was thinking of starting my own line; maybe call them Shawpolskis or Mincharts, knock out a few pups, 500 quid a piece, jobs a good'un !! Us pensioners have got the time, and need the money !! LOL !! Cheers.
  10. Andy, wasn't there Deerhound way back in the line, as well as Beddy ? If they threw a rough haired brindle now and again, I might be tempted to have one !! LOL !! Cheers.
  11. I couldnt get him to stand aswell as you did CP When I said "old man" I meant YOU, not the DOG ! LOL ! Cheers.
  12. Here's a pic I took of the old man; Cheers.
  13. Joe, did you keep Eddie 'cause he looks like Moscow, you sentimental old sod !! LOL !! Cheers.
  14. There you go Minshaw Man; not a rabbit run yet and the arguments are starting !! Steer well clear of them, believe me; no good will come of it !!! Cheers.
  15. dont no y pal a want to match him and that whin lad av left my number so if he changes mind hope he rings me a want to prove my point aaron I wouldn't bother, mate ! Win or lose with these two and you'll proove nothing ! Only end up in months of arguing and you and your dog being slagged ! Just enjoy you dog, you've nowt to proove to anyone. Cheers.
  16. So how old IS it ? 14 month or 2 years ?? If it is either age, it's still young, so why has it been passed around so much. Cheers.
  17. A friend of mine is a photographer, and took some excellent shots of my dogs, some of which I posted on hunting sites. I was given a hunting magazine and there was a head shot of my bitch advertising a gamefair in IRELAND ! And this was before I had even been to Ireland !! LOL !! Worse, (or better, depending which way you look at it !), I was trawlling thru' e-bay and found the "Lurcher" section flooded with merchandise, plates, mugs, coasters, etc, with the same head shot of my dog on them !! I had no idea who the vendor was, they must have lifted the pic from the 'net !! Needless to say, my
  18. Four dogs, one rabbit, and a sheep net fence.............. well one of them is going to catch it, that's for sure !! LOL !! Cheers.
  19. Sounds like the poor dog has been passed around a bit ! Shame . Cheers.
  20. Your vet is probably right. Theres been a few posts over the years with saluki types having this problem, something to do with protein, and with the correct diet, theres a good chance they will grow out of it. Cheers.
  21. I agree with BL; taking on any 14 month lurcher can be fraught, but more so with a Saluki X. Did the previous owner do ANY training with it ? What was the reason for passing it on ? If it all comes good with the bonding and training, you'll probably have a decent dog; good luck with it ! Cheers.
  22. Surely it's better answering a negative post with a positive one, showing what the dogs have done, rather than getting into an argument ? Cheers.
  23. Who slated him ???? It's called having a laugh !! Whin enjoys it !! Cheers.
  24. He was ferreting 1200 feet above the highest point in Britain !!!! That REALY IS A "TALL" Story !! LOL !! Cheers.
