    I thought the Red Cross was a worthwhile charity until they had a directors meeting and decided to drop the cross so as not to upset other religions. Perhaps someone should have told them the "Red Cross" wasn't a religious symbol, it was the inversion of the Swiss flag, where the charity is based. Luckily the membership and big donors revolted and the ideas was dropped. Next time they came to my door, I explained this as the reason I'd never donate to them again. Cheers.

    I worked with Des Philips , he was a flight engineer with 617 squadron. He wasn't on the dambusters operation, but flew on the operation that sank the German battle ship Tirpitz. He was awarded a medal when their bomber lost an engine on take off on a bombing mission and he managed to get it of the ground and complete its mission. He was a flight sergeant as a teenager ! He told some great stories to us young 'uns when we worked together with the Royal Saudi Airforce. The countries " greatest generation " are sadly almost gone......... Cheers.

    All my working dogs have been kennelled. Does it make a difference to their working ability? I don't think so. Dont get me wrong, odd times they've been in the house and made themselves at home ! But they are soon back in their kennels, even the mini Manchester terrier and Chihuahua were kennelled, but the missus has just brought the chi inside as he's nearly fourteen . But I definitely prefere then kennelled.....who wants a big lump like the deerhound crosses hogging the sofa ? As long as the kennels are dry, warm and draughty proof, the

    Got a couple of pairs, the civvie blue top and the military brown top. Got the military ones and the ecw socks off a Surplus site for less than £20 for the two pairs, but now the sealskins alone are £35 ! Maybe Santa will bring me some if I keep mentioning it to the missus ! ?? Cheers.
