Double bred Bilko dog, equally at home on track or field. Sadly shot by a 'keeper when running a hare; Bitch sired by Bilko, out of a Greyhound bitch. Fastest I've ever seen on a track and up to a hare, Both early 70's. Cheers.

Is there more autism in kids now, or is it being better diagnosed ? when I was a kid at school, admittedly a long time ago, autism was unheard of. kids that more than likely were autistic were put in remedial classes or special schools. Kids that are now diagnosed with ADHD were simply thought of as hyper active, easily distracted or simply naughty ! Maybe the diagnosis is better and more accurate ? Cheers.

I'm worn out trying to explain to young mC that aeroplanes in Australia don't fly upside down.......so I'll give this discussion a miss for now ! Cheers.

Ah, ok, sorry mate, my mistake. To be honest, I haven't got a clue what came first, the seas or the moon, so any opinion I give would only be speculation. In fact I was once having a discussion with my late niece from New Zealand, who was a Doctor of Marine Biology, about tides, and I thought that when the moons gravity pulled the sea up in one area of the world, the sea dropped in the opposite side of the world. She had a little chuckle at that, so I decided I would listen rather than talk. She enlightened me about seas, tides, waves, etc, but most of it went above my head
-
No, I didn't say that, I said if there were no water, there couldn't be tides. Cheers.

The egg came before the chicken........and I'm sticking to that ! I don't even understand your question mate. If you'd asked what came first, the moon or the seas would have been better in my mind, but it's quite obvious if there were no water, there couldn't be any tides ! Just my opinion , mate. Cheers.

Have you noticed that most maps have Great Britain right in the middle ? Thats because the Brits were the greatest explorers and map makers in the world. Also, most maps use the Mercator Projection, which is highly inaccurate, as it's impossible to accurately convert a three dimensional globe into a two dimensional map. Another anomaly is that the Indian subcontinent is usually shown much smaller than it should be and Europe is shown bigger than it should be. Now im going to sit back and wait for all the google searches to disprove what I've said ........! LOL ! Che

Haven't seen it yet, I enjoyed the first one. By the way, if you are on the equator and start digging, are you digging sideways ? Cheers.
-
I know, I mentioned it earlier, but a barrel roll is different to flying upside down. Cheers.

Many years ago, I bought Hawkins "Brief History Of Time" , and didn't understand some of it no matter how many times I read it ! So, like many others, I asked if he could have it reprinted with diagrams to help us understand it. He did, "An Illustrated Brief History Of Time", so I bought it and the only difference was he sold me TWO books I couldn't get my head around ! LOL ! Cheers.

Here a little paradox for you; If you were at the South Pole, and started digging a hole, would you be digging downwards, or upwards ? The "top" or "bottom" of the earth is only relative to where you are standing or where you are viewing the earth from. Have you ever been to Australia ? There's shops there that sell Australian maps and globes wher Australia is at the "top" and Britain is at the " bottom". If you're on the ISS and view the earth, depending when you view it, the top and bottom would be different. In answer to your question about a plane flying around the

The earth is spinning on its axis and spinning in its orbit, so where's the bottom of the globe ? No commercial aircraft can fly upside down, in my opinion, in respect to its position above the earth. If you believe different, that's ok, I can respect your opinion without agreeing with it, but I find it an awfull indicement on the British educational system. Cheers.

All scientific discoveries were theories to start with, that's why we have theoretical physicists who come up with a theory and experimental physicists who prove or disprove a theory. Newtons theory was expanded on by the likes of Einstein and others. Gravity is not only proven, it's measurable and one of the four known forces; gravity, weak nuclear, strong nuclear and electromagnetic. Weak, strong and electro have been unified in "The Grand Unifying Theory" and scientists are working to unify gravity with that theory to achieve "The Theory Of Everything" Now, I know you

To be absolutely honest, I'm sat here , tears running down my face, laughing out loud at what i'm reading ! I'd rather not join in and encourage the nonsense! "Gravity hasn't been proven " .........dear god......... Cheers.

I think people don't really understand the difference between "conspiracy" and "conspiracy theory". "Conspiracy is simply a term in law, where two or more people conspire to break the law. "Conspiracy theory" is when someone sees, reads or hears something and doesn't believe the official explanation, and believes the government, or others, are lying and covering up the real explanation. I believe the Kennedy assassination was a conspiracy between more than two people to kill JFK, as do the Warren Commission who spent years investigating it. I don't believe all the conspirac

I don't know of any commercial aircraft that could fly upside down under controlled circumstances. Wide body , or "heavy's" certainly can't. They are not designed for that and the fuel and engine lubricant systems would fail. Also the aero dynamics wouldn't allow it. Theres been instances of heavy's doing barrel rolls, but that's not exactly flying upside down in the context we are talking about. Light aircraft, fighter jets, etc, probably could, but not big commercial aircraft. Cheers.

Just like distilling poteen, mate. heat the sea water up, the lighter molecules of water change into steam and rise, the heavier molecules of salt stay in the sea. Of course I prefer reverse osmosis myself..... far less dangerous ! LOL ! Cheers.
-
I know I'm going to regret this, but I just can't help myself ! LOL ! The hydrologic cycle is three parts, evaporation, condensation and precipitation. When water evaporates from the sea, it doesnt just disappear, it condenses, then falls as rain, sleet or snow......precipitation, runs off the land back to the sea and the cycle continues. Cheers.
-
Distillation, mate. Cheers.

Isn't a simpler explanation that water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen.....elements abundant on earth ? Cheers.
-
Of course we can see the other planets in our solar system with a telescope, in fact we can see five of them with the naked eye . We can see a lot of them with a decent pair of binoculars. Cheers.
-
I tend to agree. Just because we are carbon based with a need for oxygen and water, what's to say there isn't "life" on other planets, in other solar systems that have completely different needs to exist ? Cheers.

Not sure if it was Goole or the Khyber Pass, very similar....... Cheers.

I got as far as Goole once, but our guides advised us it wasn't safe to go any further without armed guards......... Cheers.
