    Found some of the photos I must have deleted a lot. It’s amazing how much stuff we see on a lot of property’s.

    Jok you would be surprised on how some people live on their properties over here, some of the ones we go on are full of old farming equipment that would have to be over 100 years old as from what I can make out they don’t want to throw or sell anything. It’s quite an eye opener and some days I get more enjoyment looking at the stuff.. l go through my photos and post up some of the pictures I have taken over the years.

    I have similar problems in the past and I was advised by one block mix in their food once a week kitten food , kitten food has high protein for them and the fish. The only time I have the problem now is when they get old or it’s a Jill who is about to have her young. Another one I also do and try to do it once a week or so is mix up egg with their food good protein and for their coat.

    For get the books bud just keep them well and worm for feeding them I feed mine chicken mince kiting food for ptoteen and venison and some kangaroo mince and rabbit as well Handel them on a daily basis and you will have very loyal ferrets Stick around dude and you will learn a lot of this site

    Haven’t seen old mate for a few days. Maybe he forgot to let go of the meat when he threw it in. What you see their is a led of a dear. But they do get fed a lot more then that.

    I have to say keeping them in the lounge room can be a problem if they go up the chimney the white ferrets come back as polecats.

    We run two teams of cut bucks (hobs) one team of eleven and another team of seven with two does (Jill’s) found the cut bucks don’t fight when they are in season and can work them all year round and can handle them self against a large rabbit. We are lucky enough we are able to drive up to all our warrens so carrying an amount of ferrets we don’t do. Some of our warrens , large wood piles and large sheds and garden beds we do , we can have up to eight ferret in at once. We just put up the nets put the ferrets in and let the mayhem begin. It’s great fun

    It’s all good all his ferrets are very well looked after never had any foot rot if one starts scratching from fleas they are all flee treated straight away and what a job that is he has never had a problems selling them or even happy to give them away to young kids And they are very well feed mainly with kangaroo mince that we get for cost And it’s amazing on how many ferret you can put in your hall way is their anyone willing to help nip train them

    Or you could keep them in the laundry like my mate does. It an old farm house on his property.

    Does anyone know of any kind of plants you can grow to help with the smell but also give shad over the pens over summer.

    I have put in a a few small sprinkler jets like the ones they use on the furns. It uses stuff all water. And I also have done the kitty litter tray with water in it it works welll.

    Could the different colours be caused by people who have released coloured pet rabbits into the wild as they have no more time for them or rabbits that have escaped.

    Ferret man well done it makes your day is different when you catch a rabbit a different colour I found it great. Years ago when I was a kid at one spot I went with my farther we got quite a good number of rabbits with a whit strip on them. We brought home one tin a small kit with some white markings on it and tried to make it a family pet but it never worked out.

    Went out yesterday and done a some warrans on a golf course got plenty of rabbits but lost quite a few as we were unable to take the whippets with us but still done well. But I got my first black rabbit and it put up a good fight. Some of my friends say I am racissist but it was bolted by a black ferret I call it fair.

    Hard to say but give it a go just work on the small warrans and see how you go if no luck hunt around for a couple of new ferrets and break in and build a good crew. Stick around on this site as you will get a lot of good advice and gain some great ideas.

    I don’t think any male would be focus when in season animal or human. ?

    I have found this stuff to be fantastic for fleas and foot rot only ever had foot rot twice just use a light does works well.

    Every one has their own opinion when it comes to what ferrets to use for hunting, l myself like and use cut bucks ( hobs ) as I can work them all year round and they don’t fight when mating season comes around. They are bigger and can generally Handel them self with a large rabbit. With the Jill’s they are smaller and when in season and have kits I am unable to work them and they can struggle with the larger rabbits. I also like the ferrets with black eyes but not fused on colour. Each to their own.

    Is their anyone out their or a web site with plans on how to make a bow back carry box, I have made several straight back boxes over the years and even have my dads ones he made around 50 + years ago that weighs a tonne mad out of hard wood. I will post up the pitchers of them when I get a chance.
