  1. Look up on you tube Doug Craig you can learn bits and pieces from him and the other one is Simon whitehead he is the other one with a lot of videos brink back the JCB. When it comes to sending links I have no idea. Hope you find them.
  2. I call mine with the bop bop noise when I feed them. If you watch a few of sir bless videos he also does a similar thing it’s amazing on what you can pick up by watching some of these videos their is also another one by Simon whitehead called bring back the JCB where he locates his ferret at some crazy depth and bring in a front end loader it’s on YouTube the things people do to get a ferret. I have done quite a few shipping containers and rock gardens and so far been very lucky.
  3. The collies don’t seem to need a lot of training as I have noticed in Australia. I spoke to one farmer years ago who used them for rounding them up sheep. He said just be loyal to your animal and it will listen as it’s just in their blood. Good looking dog well done.
  4. I love it when people like yourself are happy to offer ferrets like that back here in Australia the people I know have problems of loading them and can take up to 6 months. I think half the problem is people are trying to get top dollar for them and after looking after them and feeding them for such a long time you are better to gift them. But I don’t think their are a lot of people in Australia that are into ferreting. The one problem I had last season was I wanted to turn my stock over and out of the litter my Jill had is 7 I ended up with 6 jills. And l was hoping to get 3 to 4 hobs as I ha
  5. It’s amazing on how times have changed when I was a kid very long time ago I remember dad only feeding them bread and milk. Not any more.
  6. By a bag of pre packed pet food from the butchers and look on the bag on where it comes from. Sometimes where the pre packed stuff comes from has where it was packed or a name on it. Never know that name may have a discount store. I found that on where I get my chicken frames from. On other one I found was the local markets that sell meat. The market I go to they try to sell of all their meat very cheap on a Saturday afternoon as they get a new delivery every Monday morning. I also find paying cash you will get it cheaper.
  7. Excellent well done. Love it.
  8. Thank you to all I am going to give it a go. I have a welder grinder and tools needed to make one I will give it a shot and I will keep you posted. Just one more question on how you tie the net to the grommet if someone could please post up a photo or to that would be great.
  9. I am sure it is with out a doubt all you guys use the stuff and not seen a bad word. But so is the price SUPERB when I get it sent over I will keep saving $$$$$ and soon should be right. All I would probably need is two long quick set nets around 75 meters long in total length. Unsure what that is in yards.
  10. I already have 2 golden retrievers that sleep all day from their had night of sleeping. The ages are 11 and 13. Yep very spoiled dogs by the wife and kids. May be one day but one of my mates I go with has 3 whippets and the female just recently had pups. 2 females 5 males. I will get some photos of them next time I am their and post them.
  11. Thinking with the wrong head

  14. Usually if held up which is not that often maybe up to half hour
  15. When you feed your ferrets what I do is make the bop bop noise before feeding them I have found this to work when I take mine out and they don’t want to come out. I have being very lucky to have not lost a ferret yet. I am dreading the day I have to dig for a ferret as a lot of the ground I work is very hard clay and rock , and also I wouldn’t know where to start if they don’t come out from under a shipping container.

  17. Hi all I live in Australia and do a lot of ferreting with long nets and purse nets. I have being watching a lot of the videos on YouTube on how you guys use the quick set nets on the basket. I love the idea on how it works but I am unable to find the anything like that in Australia and to by it from over seas it will cost me an arm and a leg. Has any one ever made up the basket or has photos on what they have made. As you can see by the photos we just put poles in the ground and tie our nets to them. This does work but very time consuming any ideas or even web sites some one can point me into
  18. The only reason I won’t get a dog for ferreting is they need to be worked pretty much every day and I only go out 2 or 3 times a month and work full time. As much as I would like a dog for ferreting it wouldn’t be fair on it being in a back yard not being worked. The one thing I have never liked is how some people keep their dogs in small pens for most of their life and don’t even get walked once a day.
  19. I can jet pet them to you get some good Australian ferret blood lines happening
  20. You will never stop a collie they will go all day.
  21. I put one rabbit in for 5 ferrets. And also meat. I hope I am not under feeding them. By the next morning the rabbit is well gone. But should I leave the skin on or off.
  22. My ferrets get fed a different meal each night mince , cut up chicken frames as I find they eat them quicker then if they are whole , venison coped up as I am lucky enough to now a few dear shooters , kangaroo mince yes you can by our national animal on the shelf in Australia , one whole rabbit at least once a weak. On the days we go hunting they get at the end of the day the livers, kidneys , lungs and hearts from the rabbits. The one thing I am unsure about is should I leave the skins on the rabbits when I feed them to the ferret or not. Some people say yes as it’s good for them others say i
  23. Unfortunately my my mate that owns them runs mainly Jill’s and every year he has never had a problem selling them but last year could quite be the we were in lockdown due to that great corona. That is an old photo from early this year. Most of them have been sold. If he believes the person who is the buyer has no idea about ferrets he won’t sell them. He is only 86 and had ferrets all his life great old timer to go hunting with.
