  1. Went out today and ran the long net around a mound of dirt with old mate Mick and my youngest one just a quick hunt up the road from home. Well we got 22 bunnies and had a great afternoon.
  2. Great to see a good set up for the ferrets I have taken on board your way you keep them cool in our hot season in Australia and it works a treat. Well done.
  3. From my understanding if anything effects the liver it will effect the meat as the liver cleanse out the goodness of the rest of the rabbit. If the liver is not looking good then it is not in my opinion good for human consumption.
  4. Un sure I would say gun if by night as gun and dog by night in my opinion is not a good combination, but that is my opinion. But well done on your number of bunnies it’s great to see good numbers
  5. I think our ferrets in Australia are slowly adapting to our heat ours seem to cope well up to 25 degrees with out a major problem.
  6. summer has arrived with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees and so this year I followed the advice that Sirbless on keeping them cool and it works a treat. Thanks for the great advice.

  8. We got most of our rabbits with the ferrets and nets and we went spot lighting at night. The spot lighting was not bad but there was a lot of long grass that made it a bit hard to find.

We ended up with just under 200 bunnies but we could have done better if we didn’t take a wrong turn and we all got stuck. But at the end of the day we all had a great day with great company. And it was great week end

  14. How bad is is coccidiosis would you feed them to your dogs or ferrets as I have being letting old mate who I go out with taking them and he has bing them to his dogs and ferrets. I also appreciate all the feed back.
  15. Went out again today to a different spot and still found the same thing with the rabbits and as someone had asked I have cut the liver in half and it is right through it.
  16. Being catching a lot of rabbits with their livers looking like this. The rabbits look good and healthy but we don’t eat them , we give them to the dogs. Is it just a fatty buildup is their any body out their that has seen the same or could tell me what it is.
  17. Yep the floods have done a lot of damage. But hold your chin up all will be good BUD as long as you have your health live every day like your last as I do as great man said life goes to fast enjoy what you do .
  18. My little doe has finally had her kits around a week ago their mum is a great little hunter but also a great pet she is proud of them and i have been close to them but still keeping a distance from them at this stage hopefully if i can get 3 to 4 bucks for new stock I will be happy with that . My question is I have in the past put my young ones to work with their mum at around 6 months old is that a bit to early. Second of all I will keep one of her daughters for breading as milly is getting old . With the older ones I will pass them on as pets as that are friendly when handheld but do hunt
  19. I feed mine kangaroo meat venison tin kitten food with minced up chicken frames they get the kitten food once a week mixed in with other meat for the vitamins, the kitten food I buy is all meat not the one with vegetables. I also get a small supply of two weak old roosters which they get whole. The one thing is when you feed them rabbits do you leave the skin on or skin them. I know everyone has their own thoughts on it. I have found that the skinned ones seem to get eaten quicker than if they have their skin on. The other one is when I give them eggs what is better as a raw egg has a lot les

The place we went was only 2 hour drive. But we have plenty of places within 10 minutes from home but the numbers aren’t that large maybe 30 to 40 on a good day e
