A Massive "thank You" To Ideation! Great Weekend Away!
Tyla replied to Tyla's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
You are not the first person to be disappointed by that as you know. The little mentalist would be in great demand if he hadn't been cut. Unfortunately my sanity had to come first so off they came! You think he's full on now, imagine what he was like with all that extra testosterone! -

Very good company, that bloody terrier - I really thought he'd hurt himself badly. He's a hardy sort but couldn't walk and in the circumstances thought there was some damage so packed him out. That was at the bottom of a small mountain, when I unloaded him at the top by the car he hopped in like nothing had happened. Reckon it was either cramp from running hard then swimming the river or the crafty little shit just fancied a ride. -
Just spotted this. I build shepherds huts and most have wood burners fitted, I build a ply hearth and back board and then tile it with thick slate floor tiles. It works well and the slates hold the heat rather than it all going up the chimney. I would also suggest looking into compost toilets as an alternative to a septic tank. Hope its going well!

I don't really know which section to put this in as we did a bit of everything but I know Jai is here a lot so here it is. This weekend I took Jai up on a long standing invite to visit. I arrived Saturday morning with Willow my lurcher bitch and Ollie the terrierist. After a warm welcome with tea and an impressive fry up. We, Jai, his girlfriend Loren and I and the dogs Willow, Ollie, Gwen the houndx and Loren's terrier who's name I cant recall all went for a wander along the Wye. Is was an unforgettable walk, a mixture of beautiful scenery, excitement and panic, which resulted in my

You might as well send it to Father Christmas! Mine has been back and forth to them, at my cost, and is still no better! Not only that but they refuse to repair their collars which stop working with alarming regularity. I really dislike Deben and resent the monopoly they hold on these things. The least they could do is offer decent after sales service if they are going to sell expensive stuff that only lasts a couple of seasons! Rant over

You wont go wrong with hultafors, like a mora but about half the price. Paid £3.50 each and bought five at a tool show recently, I wont be short of a blade for a while! Just found them even cheaper http://www.toolfinder.co.uk/hand-tools/craftmans-knife-hvk/?gclid=CO7mvJzj2bkCFYPHtAod7CMAyg

That was really good, obviously spent some time putting it together

Anyone Out Later Its Blowing A Gale Here ;)
Tyla replied to whitefeet4190's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Same here, stayed out for an hour and picked up three though. Should have done better really but it was the old boys first time out this season so a little rusty -
They are shite, I've had two break in the past and Deben don't repair them just offer to sell you a replacement. Had another one stop working this morning. There needs to be an alternative to Deben, the wankers have a monopoly and they know it!

Very sad, I hope it all turns out for the best for you and the pups. I'm really going to miss those two in your posts. Good luck!

Nice post, nice to see them on a bit of R and R

Trim the loin and cut it in half, fry on a high heat to seal both sides about a minute each side. Then into a preheated oven 220 degrees for about seven minutes. Serve with fried potatoes, salad, coleslaw and potato salad. Lovely!

Be careful, once you get him started on his stories he's hard to stop and it just gets weirder and weirder. The arse first surf entry technique was an absolute classic, four of us sat on the beach pissing ourselves while he wallowed about! I believe there are some action shots to go with that story ...... ?

Love the vardo, I have a real hankering to build one but need someone to commission me. Any takers?

I was lucky enough to be a guest on a safari camp near Zumbo on the Zambezi, the clients were hunting Buffalo and I got to go fishing and out after camp meat, mainly impala, while they were not using the cruiser. It was in '99 and I loved it. I have also done a bit on a more informal basis in Zimbabwe and hunted, unsuccessfully, for Kudu, with the Masaii in Tanzania using an American civil war era muzzle loader. I lived in Zanzibar for a while but never hunted there. if I ever get back to Tanzania I have an offer to hunt bush pig with dogs and a spear which I would be very keen to do. Sadly re

Give it a go and let you know what I think? Okay then 'Trev'. This is a genuine post isn't it? Shooting freehand? Really? As a spring rifle shooter I agree with you about using freehand. It's just the complete and utter bullshit the rest of the thread is made up of, I have a problem with. It's all lies and crap! You are taking the piss aren't you! I've edited out my long-winded explanations as to why you are full of crap. I rather think the gentlemen of this forum would rather love you to go on digging a deeper hole explaining why I'm wrong, you are right and you can prove every wo

I have a bitch here who's had a middle toe off the front and back on the same side, she was ok for a season but it has caused all sorts of problems and now she has taken pride of place on the sofa. If you can avoid it, even if it means missing the whole of the season, I would do. The best advice has already been given, get him to a proper running dog vet. Give me a call if you want

You can just about lamp the dogs using a cluson clu briter but the beam is b*****d tight so its easy to lose the quarry in the beam. Its ok for an subtle evening stroll but wouldn't use it all the time

That is one of the most impressive things I've seen in ages. Brilliant, I am now subscribed and planning an evening watching minkenry!

Don't give up hope, had exactly the same happen to one of mine a few years ago. A twig pieced the eye ball and broke off inside, two operations, £1500 quid, seven tiny stitches in the surface of his eye and a few months later he was back in work. He can see out of it but not perfectly, took him a few frustrating nights to figure out how to compensate but he got his form back in the end.
