  1. Welcome mate, thats a lovely looking dog you have there. Im not local but there are plenty of lads who are. Good luck
  2. I had a dispatch for a couple years on an 02 plate. Non turbo, boring to drive but very reliable. Crappy build quality, plastics bits snapped etc but engine never missed a beat. If i remember right did about 37mpg. Hope this helps
  3. Picked up two from Johny this afternoon, thank you very much. Trap all set, hopefully have a result tomorrow
  4. Its a bit late in the season but i'll give you a hand if you like. Where are you based? PM if you prefer
  5. The man asked a question, whats it matter to you what else he does with his time? Too many snide comments on here by far, you would think grown men would have something better to do.
  6. I wasnt hunting but spent a fair bit of time on a farm in zimbabwe and had some nasty moments with baboons. They'd wind the dogs up to chase them and once they were far enough away from us would turn back onto them, never saw a dog killed but a few injuries and alot of nervewracking moments. The noise a troop of baboons makes when they are upset is something else. Stands your hair on end!
  7. Its the internet, get over it. Its easily solved by turning your computer off.
  8. Cheapest i could find was £44 delivered from Charlies Direct
  9. I got one, they are ok but the beam is very tight. Never use the strobe function, cant see the point
  10. I can honestly say this thread has improved my day, when i read it earlier i had come home from work after a c**t of a morning and was in a foul mood. Saw the thread and turned off the telly and computer grabbed Willow out the kennels and went for a mooch. I had a lovely afternoon, saw a few roe, a fox, a couple of runs on rabbits and lots of birds. I even picked up a snipe with a damaged wing which is unusual in itself, lovely birds to see close up. Finished up by meeting the Mrs and the rest of the pack for a quick walk and a couple of pints in the pub - all with the snipe still in my pocket
  11. One of the best threads on here IMO, well done FUJI
  12. Thats s better lamp but more blatant than the clubriter. Horses for courses
  13. No, i paid £44 delivered brand new from Charlies Direct. £50 second hand is a shit deal
  14. The dogs love it, the hard bit is finding enough rats for them
  15. I've got one, i like it but you have to be sharp with the lamp as the beams a bit tight. Not in the same league as a lightforce but handy for exploring.
  16. It was, as you say, a really enjoyable day. I always enjoy it when the rats take to the trees, it adds another dimension to it and gives me an excuse to get the catty out. Just goes to show a good day dosent have to be about big numbers. Blackstaff - Pictures please?
  17. Have you ended them because they are sold of did the auctions finish? If you still have it i will have pot watching. Thanks
  18. Its a ridiculous state if affairs. I was visiting a friend off here in Lincolnshire and we went to sell some legally ferreted rabbits to a landlord. He didnt want them and took my numberplate and passed it ti poacher watch who passed to all local keepers. Luckily my friends knows a few keepers and found out it was flagged and told me. Needless to say the van was sold quick smart but what a palaver over a handful of legally taken rabbits!!!!!
  19. No worries, i've never done rabbits but reckon they would be ideal to start on. I have been meaning to save up enough to do a rug but never got round to it this season. Let us see when you've given it a try
  20. Thanks Tyla. Excuse my ignorance but what is the bicarbonate and diesel method? Basically you soak the skin in a dust bin or similar and then scrape it clean. This is the hard bit, deer arent to bad but fox or sheep skins just ooze fat which is grim. I was shown to use a draw knife with the skin draped over a log, hold it against your belly and scrape away from you starting at the neck and working backwards. You then wash it in washing powder, cant remember now if it was bio or non bio, rinse it and leave to drip dry. Once the water has stopped running off it, stretch it out to dry either
  21. Not interested in a cheaper unreliable version. If im going to spend then i'd rather get one that works, everyone rates the garmin and no one seems to use the retrieva so I suppose its got to be the garmin. Its just a bit blatant, lurchers get enough funny looks as it is without bright orange collars with ariels on!
