  1. To sell to game dealers you only need a hunter number. You can get that by doing your game meat hygiene certificate, a one day course through NGO. DSC courses offer this as part of the 3, I think, day course for a lot more money. If you are a total novice then perhaps the DSC course is worthwhile but you'd be far better finding someone to mentor you as there is only so much a course can teach you. Experience is far more valuable. I have met stalkers with all 3 level of DSC qualifications who have only ever shot a handful of deer. I shoot and sell a fair number of deer and haven't don
  2. My jill has come into season again after an early service by my mates vacectomised hob. The hob is out of action now so I'm looking for an alternative in mid sussex area please Thanks in advance

I see your point but i believe, as a species, we can't be trusted not to greedily gobble up anything we come across without bothering to look into the implications to either ourselves or anything else. Our operations on this planet are a good example of this. As such I don't trust us to be given access to anywhere else. We are basically evil monkeys, very successful evil monkeys no doubt, but evil monkeys nonetheless.

No one knows do they? Could be all sorts of mineral or other resources for us to plunder, which is no doubt why they want to go there. In my eyes it's rather like a spoilt child being given a replacement toy after smashing up the first one.

The last thing we need is access to any more planets, look what we've done to this one
  6. I'm the same. Had laser surgery years ago which has since worn off but left me with terrible low light finish. I run dogs m9re than I shoot and had pretty much given up lamping as I was walking past stuff without seeing it and ending up frustrated with an equally frustrated dog who could see all the things I couldn't. I pretty much gave up for a season only going out if someone came with me to spot. I bit the bullet and bought a thermal, it was vastly expensive but it allows me to get out on my own and I wouldn't be without it now.
  7. I love the idea of hunting from a kayak, not something we'd ever be able to do here
  8. I do a bit of kayak fishing and been thinking the same. It's the f***ing it up and ending up in France that concerns me ....
  9. Same with hedgehogs in New Zealand. They hate them there and spend a fortune killing them. People were amazed when I told them they were struggling here. Funny old world ....
  10. It's certainly easy to get frustrated lol. It's very satisfying when it all comes together though
  11. You're a f**k site better than me then! What kind of ranges are we talking? Some days I'm shooting and killing stuff or hitting a spinner time after time and then randomly it all goes awry for a bit. It must be me but it feels like my form is exactly the same all the time so I front know how to fix it.
  12. I've shot catapults for ages, never been particularly good but racked up a few kills over the years. Over the last month or so I've been doing a bit more and trying a ttf frame. I shoot ok, hitting spinners etc and was practicing fairly regular but i do seem to have a fair few random shots. The lads on here that are good, are you hitting most things you shoot at or do you just shoot at a lot of quarry and miss until you hit one? What's your shot to kill ratio? Since I've tried aiming rather than instinctive I was expecting more accuracy but I'm still getting unexplained flyers
  13. My one pushed herself under a pile of brash the size of a lorry once. Took several of us ages to dismantle the stack enough to get her out. The bloody rabbit bolted right at the end and none of the other dogs caught it.
  14. They do the same with sting rays in NZ, just eat the livers
  15. I'm probably not the right person to ask as I'm no expert. I use an ocean kayaks tetra angler, I think it 14'. It's a paddle one. I'm pretty much a summer fisherman as I'm busy in the hunting season. Mine is fine for me but i think if you wanted to go out far and in the winter you would want something bigger. The fishing locally isn't great, its been hammered by commercial boats for centuries. We catch eating fish but nothing of size, certainly not the kind of fishing you'll be getting in Florida!
  16. Me and a mate managed a couple of hours on the kayaks this morning. First time this season. The weather was stunning and we even managed to catch some fish!
  17. Thanks Micky. I shall definately be trying that this autumn. What's the wine like? Sweet/dry etc?
  18. How do you do it Micky? I've got an orchard of plum trees and I'm keen to find a use for them as they don't keep well
  19. You will like the book I put up earlier in the thread, its a mind changer too
  20. Not at all, its merely an observation.
  21. I can never quite make my mind up about you, sometimes you come across as a very sensible knowledgable fella, other times as an angry teen with a grudge against the world. Its very confusing. Im a positive thinker though so im hoping you are the forner and its just the way you come across online.
  22. I'm here to help ?????
  23. There used to be a guy in the next county who ran his from a fortified garden office. Steel doors and lots of alarms and, I guess, something solid in the walls. He was appointment only, I only met him as a gun I bought was being stored there.
  24. Shit start for the dog. Your wife's friends brother is an idiot.
