  1. Just been out to check the box and have a shine around the gardens but no joy. Looks like a case of doing some posters and waiting to see if she turns up. Still waiting on some cage traps which i will set as soon as they arrive.
  2. i've been around to the neighbours but its fairly rural here and not many kids about. im hoping she will come back when she gets hungry or lonely, i dont think shes ever been away from other ferrets before so fingers crossed.
  3. All four of them got out today. The little sods have chewed two staples out of their pen and escaped. Luckily my mate caught three of them almost immediatly but one is still missing. i put out their box with some hay and food in and im waiting for a mate to drop some live catch traps over. i've not lost a ferret since i was at college although not had these ones for long. Anything else i should be doing?
  4. Mine .... ... but only because i dont know anyone else who runs dogs
  5. Heres a couple of pcs for you mate
  6. Whoops just realised i posted this topic from Amys account, sorry hun! Scent - we will definately be going again as my friends have made a nice life for themselves out there. i have to admit i am very jealous! You guys are very lucky!
  7. Try a bird of prey centre if theres one local, they usually only take headshot ones though to stop the birds ingestvng any lead. Also dog breeders and rescue centres are sometimes interested. i prefer to swap with butcher for other meat though although not always an option! Good luck
  8. its been up before but never mind. Falcon FN19 .20 with 3-9x50 simmons and bipod (and dog)
  9. lol, your making me feel guilty now John i will be up for it for definate when i get back. To everyone else, this is a great offer from a really nice, genuine bloke. if i wasnt away i would be there for sure. its bound to be a good day out and its a lovely bit of ground. Catapult

My personal opinion, keep the rubbers and throw away the rest. make yourself a nice set of forks and away you go. im reasonably proficient with a catty but cannot hit a barn door with the barnet ones, i reckon the forks are too far apart! Have a read of the catapults thread in the Gamekeeping section, lots of good ideas there.
  11. Lovely bit of kit, i didnt know they were made in .20 or is it a custom job?
  12. My girlfriend has one bred by dogger off here and so do a few other menber from the same litter. They all look to be turning out good although bigger than i expected, our pup is 18.5tts at about 6 mths!
  13. i am still waiting to hear from someone the legal position on catapult hunting. i have another thread going in general talk about it too. it seems very strange that this pic has been removed yet other quarry killed with a catty is still on here as are numerous "retrieved" hares, foxes etc. if rules applied to everyone rather than just those that upset a particular mods sensibilities it would make more sense.
  14. What is going through their heads?!?!?! i would be ashamed if my or my dogs inability caused undue suffering to my quarry, i certainly wouldnt put it up on utube so all and sundry could see what a c*nt i was
  15. i was out following today too and had the same problem. its crazy, trying to find where to go from the meet is like getting directions to a rave back in the day all cloak and dagger, phone calls to the "number", cars following each other about, police everywhere etc All because some ignorant b*****ds think they have the right to dictate how we should live our lifes, gets me fuming
  16. Why? its not illegal, it was in season and i had permission. i dont really care if you "recommend" it or not. if its not against the law and was killed humanely why remove it? Theres plenty worse throughout the rest of the forum, have you deleted the entire catapults thread in the gamekeeping section or the canada goose shot with an air gun thats been on here lots of times?
  17. Nice one, if only all permission came so easy! Enjoy it
  18. They are as good as you are, if you are accurate enough to hit a rabbit, squirrel or pigeon etc in the head at 10 yards the catapult will kill it. if you cant shoot as well as that do NOT hunt with it. You will also need to use either lead or steel ball bearings and NOT stones. You can use the steel 9mm BBs but they are really too light for hunting, lead is better but you have to make your own which is a pain. For practice, until you are good enough to hunt, hang a sheet up as a back stop. Make sure there are a few folds on the groung to catch the ammo ang put a target up in front. Once yo

  20. They are a quality rifle, no frills, bit heavy but will never let you down Things to look out for, any tool marks on stock screws etc can mean its been interfered with also well worth trying it over a chrono, if you can get your hands on one, to check power is there but not too high. Scopes, depends what you like really. A good quality 3-9x40 would be my choice, wouldnt break the bank and would do the job. Good luck with it, i look forward to seeing a few posts showing your results Good hunting
  21. All the same to me - WANKERS!!!!!
  22. A good night out, how olds your dog?
  23. Cheers mate, will get that sorted asap. Hows that pup of yours coming on?
  24. Get the air rifle out in the Summer
