Looks like you had a good night mate is your offer still on for me and Pigeonphil later in the season? Hope so! We been on holiday in wales this week on a mates 7 acres. The weather was sh*t for the beach but perfect for the lamp Tyla had one and she missed a few but she's learning. it was a bit gutting standing there on a perfect night with dog raring to go and only that little bit to go at (the family whose place it was are pretty strict about poaching the neighbours!) but it looked pretty busy anyway, i counted 4 other lamps working the valley

Mine were out with my OH and Tyla grabbed a crow out of the sky! Apparently it was doing the usual lazy flap away as the went for it but it obviously didnt count on her doing the old harrier jump jet impression She pulled it out of the air and Parker was straight onto it as it hit the ground but the just gave it to Amy and didnt kill it. Shes quite happy finishing off rabbits but wasnt quite sure what to do with a mangled but very pecky crow so i had to leg it up from home to give a demonstration! She tooks photos but i think they are on her phone somewhere

As it happens i have taken up the offer and have no intention of f*cking anyone over. im not short of permission and would happily return the favour. Although ive been shooting, working gundogs and ferrets for years im the first to admit im new to lurchers and would welcome the chance to work with someone more experienced. if that makes me a "wellwisher" then so be it were u base ty Mid Sussex, near Haywards Heath

i have a 14 mth old bitch thats taken a few on the lamp but wont be starting proper til next season and a pup thats done nothing at night but bushed a couple in daytime. if the offer is open for them to gain some experience watching good dogs run and have a go themselves then i would love to. Not interested in competitions though as they're not ready for all that. i'd need some notice though to sort time away. Cheers

if its on a recoiling spring rifle then its possible the mounts are slipping which can be sorted with an arrester block. it fits behind the rear mount and stops the recoil slipping the scope back. if its a pcp then could be the crosshairs are knackered.

That sounds great, my hunting buddy is gunsmith who would, im sure, be able to sort your ratty out no trouble at all. i will ask him and let you know

Thanks mate it is suprisingly easy to be honest, i've added some camo tape to dull down the silencer, bipod and cylinder since those pics were taken too.

Hi Keeley, sorry i missed it on the 7th. How did it go? Will you be at Parham on Sunday too?
-
i think we will be there on the sunday. Should be a good day out i hope, although its bound to rain! im looking for someone local with experienced lurchers to help me bring on our two so if anyones going that might be willing to help it would be a good neutral place to meet up? Just to make it clear, im late twenties with plenty of permission and been shooting etc all my life so im not on the scrounge just after some good advice and a good example for the dogs to follow Cheers

This is my version, its pretty basic but does the job. Done with car spray paint and a stencil cut out of a plastic milk bottle. its been on for about 3 years and is getting a bit scratched so i will probably redo it this year.

Simple spray job. Could be duller but seemstodo the job. i've since taped the silencer and bipod too

i went coursing with a mate and his dog years ago and it vanished on a hare. We searched for hours and got piss wet through, eventually went back tothe van and the f**king thing was asleep on the front seat!!! The drivers window was open about 6 inches, no more than that, and it wasnt a small dog. Still got no idea how he got in!

They do exactly what it says on the tin, rats! Useful tool for close range rats or ferals especially indoors, for anything else get a different gun. i have one which i dont use often but when i do it does the job - just dont expect too much from it

i personally wouldnt bother. You cant see the dot in sunlight and if you use them lamping, unless you have a really good one, the dot is too big at any range. They are a swine to zero and i also think rabbits get spooked by the dot. They are also very prone to being knocked off zero in the gunbag. Some people like them, but i dont. if you have money to spend get yourself a laser rangefinder, about the best thing you can do to improve your shooting is know your ranges. A rangefinder not only tells you the exact range but also teaches you to judge ranges by yourself. Only my personal opi

Sounds incredible! And the other half seems amenable too, but not til she finishes uni in a few years. We did their points score thing on the web site and seems like we would have no problems getting in. im thinking an exploratory trip next summer is on the cards!

I knew a Chippy that lived in New Zealand, he was in the area about a year ago. Is he bald by any chance? Nah, old guy with hair like Rod Stewart!
-
Plenty of work round here although sometimes the money aint that good as prices are being undercut by poles etc My last firm lost a loft job on price to a polish outfit and, a few months later, had to go in and ripout what they had done and redo it. They made such as a mess of it the house was condemned as unsafe until their work was made good!

Problem solved, my girlfriend fixed it

i've onlyjust noticed, got no idea how i did it. Can anyone tell me how to change it back?
-
Never been there so i don't know how good it is, but if it's as good as the Kiwi chippy says, Whats he doing here???? Thats what i said, his answer is that his missus is here and her kids dont want to be on the otherside of the world from their Dad (her ex), which is a fair point i think
