    Any lurcher should be able to take rabbits but I'd say a whippet x grey whith a bit of collie in the mix be my choice or a bedlington grey x collie grey .

    I'm the same ,only take what you need and can carry ,I never been into the numbers game as to me its like the shooting brigade killing several hundred pheasants in a day .different if its a paid job but I'm only interested in feeding the ferrets and seeing the dogs work ,you be hard pushed to bag half a dozen local ,plenty other stuff about to keep the dogs happy ?

    Took 20s few times but few yr ago now,they no numbers local to me so if we take five the dog works hard for them but never about numbers these days its just good to be out and see me dogs do what they love to do .

    I had same thing ,a no good neighbour called the rspca saying my dogs all skin and bones and the rspca fella took a look at them and said they nothing wrongvwith these dogs they look top condition and I won't be coming back .

    Its wrong but its few bad apples that f it up for everyone and I'd say its those with no regards for anything that f it up for all lurcher lads ,lasses . If your poaching do it but do it quiet and don't chat about it .

    I don't no what area you go chasing puss and don't want to but your very wrong about not going jail as I no lads who been away for coursing and lost dogs ,car ,£££ and a ban on keeping dogs ,and from what I hear they going to change the sentence from 3/ 6 months up to 2/3 yr for repeat offenders so loose lips will definitely get you jailed in the end .

    The days of putting a dog ,bird ,ferrets in a crate and send them by train sadly gone or id send him to you .

    I never kept a bedy whippet first x but had 3 q bred that took few gingers but not what I call a fox dog ,I'd go for a bedy grey bigger stronger type of juckel ,I don't go out looking for gingers never have but one gets put up its fair game .

    Mates got a lakeland x greyhound, she's getting on now but she put some stuff away .

    Think this x be good type ,always wondered why not many keep the x yet the bedy whippet very popular and as been for yrs but maybe the shape and size of bedlington terrier just makes a bigger better shape lurcher when put to a sight hound , My busher is bedy whippet x patt .

    My old jill as got blue patches around her teets ,anyone else see this before, I will post pic after work ,she seems ok in herself and she's 11 yr old now .

    Didn't stop them having dogs though ,just because a law says your not todo something don't mean your going to keep to it ,what I'm trying to say is they would have brought there own types with them and if you look at the types these tribes had and still have today they look awfully like Salukis to me . I didn't say it was ,but I think its the rabbit that not native not sure on hare .

    Sal blood was in UK well before 60 s ,I honestly think when the first romani people came to UK they brought there own juckels and over the yrs it was bred into what was available on the migration from India ,these tribes had juckels that look the same as Salukis and I don't think these kaney people would have left there dogs behind ,the Spanish running dog definitely comes from the roma people who settled there and don't see why they would leave there dogs behind when coming to UK . Just a thought.
