  1. Yes mate ,she's making a good type and very keen .pleased with way she's turned out .
  2. Tumbler is a way it runs a rabbit etc ,instead of running behind it will use its brain and cut the rabbit ,hare off but any lurcher shouldhunt like this anyway. .it as nothing todo with it turning its head like some track dogs .they is only one true tumbler and that's a duck dog in Canada ?? so I believe,
  3. Two end dogs look cracking, but all looking good ?
  4. Nice type ,all the pups together ?
  5. I mo few lads running his stuff and ones 9 see look good anufe ,Geoff talks alot but I always found him to be ok and he's far from stupid like some think . His steamer dog cracking looking juckel ,not see it work .
  6. Bedy greyhound, bigger stronger type and make great mooching dogs
  7. Only lab x i see work was out of a litter Jeff brumel had a part in breeding out of one of his Norfolk types and it worked as good as any x I see .
  8. I ment to say my bitch bedy grey marvel ,she didn't take for what ever reason so I try again next Year.dog was a first x bedy grey . Still looking to put a bedlington lurcher over her . Hope your OK,
  9. I think Dan same as us ,he likes the bedy x but with touch of something else in it ,I not got bad word to say about fella who bred ours and it wasn't for money as he gave me money back and not many around who do that today and let's face it a breeder of f1 bedy greys could make a fortune if he wanted especially now in these crazy times but I don't think he's the kind of lad to do that .
  10. I agree tomo ,about only thing my first x lacks is wind so putting a lurcher x lurcher over her from good grafters should produce the goods ?
  11. Rambo might be in the line of Bedlington but one dog don't make a line ,my bitch doing just fine ,she's keen as any and making good mooching juckel she's a bit stubborn at times but she gives 100% and not just rabbits ,they wouldn't make a hare dog but far as I'm concerned the days of going to the flat lands coursing puss is over at least for me ,she's retrieved fox and tracked roe ,cwd ,muntjac no problem and loves to snaffle a kaney along a hedge row as for rabbits she does just fine. Everyone i spoke to who as siblings to our bitches are happy with what they got and thats what counts .
  12. I'm out of here I started this thread to get folks opinions on first xs and what the xs can and do give on there own or as a starting point to put something else to it , most have given honest answers but for some its turned into another slaging match and this is why this forum going down hill and putting lads off posting as whats the point if all certain people can say my x the best the rest is rubbish and start calling each other on open forum . Have a good evening Atvb to you all Mooch
  13. I only no one lad who runs a German shepherd x lurcher but not a first x but its a grafter and puts some stuff away .
  14. I got 3q terrier q whippet that's took hare in cover ,shed follow a line like a beagle and run it to a stand still .
  15. You tell folk a lot in fact to much
  16. I got a f1 as you no but in no way is she the finished article but first xs suit some folk , I think the first x a good starting point as long as you got the right one and I be honest every lad I spoke to who got siblings to mine are all happy with what they got .I'm hoping to get a stud lined up for next yr and should make similar breeding to yours if I can talk her into it .
  17. Are you really saying the greyhound don't put anything into a running dog ? Whats the base line for any lurcher ?
  18. I see some cracking bull xs and this post was never about the best type over all as they no such thing and you should no that if you been into lurchers like you say ,its about what first x would lads have and why , we all have different xs but be good to hear what others say instead of you saying all types are useless apart from sal bred dogs
