  1. Yes I was told that but none of mine are collie bred so its safe to use .
  2. I agree with you totally mate ,you got to show all living things respect and if something got to be pts do it the right way and not strung up or thrown in a well . A good friend lived in Spain for yrs and he was in a bar and was told about a litter of pointer pups being buried alive so he drove out to the area and found them ,he dug them out and only one was alive so he rushed it to vet and had him treated ,the dog always looked like it had ad a strock as his face lop sidded but he lived until 16 yr and had a great life with me pal and was a lovely gentle dog . .People who do these kind o
  3. I'm glad you liked them mate ? Id rather they went to a good home thats going to get enjoyment from them than a few quid, atvb mooch
  4. My whippet x lost his fur with frontline so I only use advantage now and drontal and a milbamax once every 3 months and it keeps my lot clean .
  5. He's a good man and great service
  6. Yes it does but its daily for two weeks and that's a lot of panacur to give a juckel ,I was advised to give milbamax once a week for a month and 3 days of panacur at the start and it cleared him up unlike the 3 vets who said give Advocate as this is the best treatment ,yes best for them as it cost more but doesn't work to kill lungworm its just a preventer if your lucky .
  7. If your dog as been seen in last 12 months they can prescribe otherwise your paying 30 quid for nothing and then what ever the wormers cost .
  8. Advocate dont treat lung worm ,the vets will say it does and even prescribe it if a dog as lung worm but it don't work the only one I know that works is milbamax and I had a dogvwith lung worm andvvet gave advocate once a week for a month and didn't do anything but milbamax did the job .
  9. And by the time he finds one the damage is unreversable if its a fracture etc and any track vet worth the name would tell you get a xray and go from there
  10. I was always told the best type of ferret is the one bolting rabbits .don't matter what sex what type as long as its doing the job
  11. I had a big hob called "big nose " he was as gentle as a kitten and my all time favourite ferret and a great worker.he wouldn't leave anything behind and I used to work him in large wood piles ,had some great times with him and me old whippet x .some no good c..t got in me garden and released all me ferrets and I never did find him ,I did get two jills and a hob that was out of him back but he not as good as his dad ,I was heart broken to loose him . I got a old jill who nearly 11 that put a lot of coney in the nets and she's been a great jill over the yrs ,she's the last of a line I've hade
  12. If he was my dog I'd take him vets to be on safe side as like you say its clearly hurting him when you move the leg and allowing him to run with other dog is crazy as its going to get worse and you don't no what damage already done to the leg . They be plenty of advice on here but its your juckel and only you can see he's in pain so its leave him to run about with other lurcher and maybe do permanent damage or get him checked over and sorted by the vet Hope you get him sorted Mooch
  13. Gaza do you go camping in Snowden area ?
  14. I haven't been Snowden since I was a kid but I'd love to take the misses and the 3 dogs camping for a week . Pools sound great place ?
  15. Sad to say but maybe if they was shown they wouldn't be so many getting thrown down wells etc etc but some of our track greyhounds do end up in China as human food .
  16. I'm not able to help but like been said sandy keeps 3 ,I wouldn't mind a lurcher out one .
  17. At this time of year I dont venture to far from the water ,a beach a great place if your lucky anufe to live near one but any water your dog can have a dip from lake to a Brook will do the job of keeping them cool and all the better if its deep anufe for them to swim .
  18. I just walk mine threw sheep fields and keep them on lead and make it clear they are a no no and once they no longer pull on lead towards sheep I try and get a fence in-between us and sheep and let the youngster off and I try get the juckel to concentrate on me and not sheep and once they ok with that I take them threw the sheep on lead again and so on until they get it and I got to say its worked on all mine ,I got one who will give a bark to move a mob on if they in the way but other than that they fine ,horses I do the same and never had problem .I got one who will pin any bird stupid anufe
  19. I spoke to a fella this morning who had a Italian grey x whippet ,it just a pet and to be honest I couldn't see this little thing doing a shift on rabbits as it looked very weak and fragile even with a whippet bred into the mix ,it looked like it could be quick but its legs looked fragile so I couldn't imagine a pure doing work apart from sitting looking pretty
  20. I not see the Spanish greys run but I did go out for couple of days with a pack of rabbit dogs , we got talking to taxi driver on way from airport in palma and he Invited me and the misses out ,we had a good time and made really welcome, they a noisy lot but that's just how they do things and they was mainly shooting My kind of bar that .
  21. If they can run that ground in Spain they got to be tuff as old boots and wouldnt see why they wouldn't do a fox as let's face it a good whippet can and will do fox but maybe not a all out fox dog but a juckel got it in them or ain't never mind the x it is ,and this type don't seem to have a problem running in the heat ,my scruffy lot be on there bellys tounge a yard long after a run on in the heat these run in .
  22. Only lines I like is the ones me juckel doing behind something bud ,South isnt for me ,not a place to live but a couple weeks in the sun not so bad but like I say I like northern Spain .atb
