    i just don't understand why some one pay over a grand for a pup and feed it on crap especially a coursing type that should be fed like a top athlete .

    Glad you got him back ray ,it's not nice when they go missing .my whippet x a sod for it and he go over the hill and far away if something got up in front of him and I not there to stop him . i wouldn't keep on on a lead ,like been said get a bell on him so you hear him or gps . atb ?

    I really beleave this type of juckel would have come to Europe and uk with the Romani "Indian tribes "when they migrated from India . these kanny people wouldn't have left there hunting dogs behind ?

    when I was a kid I remember the men going poaching with long nets and drag line . we always had a lurcher or two that was used in day time on hares and ferreting but never see them lamping at night ,it was about not being seen so nets ,snares and catty used mostly .

    the Indian tribes have many kinds of hunting dogs from small ruff terrier types to dogs like the caravan hound that looks spit of saluki to whippet types .

    get the pup out and put the basics in like wait ,come etc and make everything a game and your pup will soon get hang of it ,it's all about bonding with each other . once you got recall sorted then think about lamping ,it's not rocket science ,find rabbits shine a light and slip ya dog ,once dog got rabbit flick light off . As for those saying why you want to work a dog ,well you could ask the same ! it's no ones business but yours . like been said purdys progress by Dave sleight good videos and well worth watching ?

    A lot of Asian ,African dogs not classed as a breed just a type like our terriers etc before show folk got hands on them and ruined the type .

    Just look at the types used in India like the rajapolayam or rampur hound or caravan hound ? All come from northern India and used by these tribes for hundreds if not thousands of yrs .these tribes migrated all over Europe and would have taken hunting dogs with them .

    I think long time before that ? the first Romani people left India 1400 s and would have had there own hunting type juckels and I'm sure these dogs would have traveled with them into Europe and uk . Look at the Indian hunting dogs,they all kinds from small terrier types to mastif for fighting to sal types for filling the pot , i may be wrong but why not bring there hunting types with them ?

    The best type of lurcher is one filling the pot no matter the x ? i don't really remember any one type more than another when I was young lad .most of the juckels my lot had was lurcher x lurcher .they was all kinds in the mix but all had one thing in common they earned there keep .
