  1. Starting a big job today, changing levels for disabled access, patio and a big retaining wall, mate said a couple of weeks ( lol ) not a chance
  2. Sea bass with new spuds, cavolo nero and a white wine, cream and parsley sauce follow by a apple crumble made from apples liberated from the mother-in-law’s tree, I cheated and didn’t make the custard
  3. Not all the time, I maybe do her something different once or twice a week, there’s a whole list of things she won’t eat, last night I made meatballs so done her shop bought Kiev she’s a woman of simple tastes, when I first started seeing her 20 odd years ago I blew her mind showing her that you could make bolognaise sauce and didn’t have to buy it in a jar ( lol )
  4. Almost seems a shame to do this just for myself, almost ( lol )
  5. That looks delicious, right up my street
  6. On my own today because Mrs Stav is working for the NHS at the great north run, so as it’s pouring down I thought I’d do myself a beef dinner, gravy on the go with the beef and if it looks like this rain is all day and I’m not going to get out for a mooch later I might squeeze a few McEwan’s into myself
  7. Homemade meatballs in a simple tomato and basil sauce, with some proper garlic bread, none of that sh*te with butter
  8. All the way to Newcastle west end this morning to put a bit of ducting in and a 400x600 pad for a barrier, I’ve no idea why they can’t get anyone up there to do this stuff, it took me longer to get there than to do the job
  9. Quick chicken dinner tonight
  10. Land drainage today, bloke who owns the place is a multi millionaire ( owns a big online tool company) said we are a bit pushed for time, so he’s been out in the rain all day with us, so we have it done by 12 tomorrow, top lad, so said he can have a days shooting with us once the season starts
  11. I like to watch cooking programmes to give me ideas, never been any good at following recipes, the only thing that comes to mind about not being able to eat is sweetcorn, I can’t even stand the smell of it, that and coffee but you don’t tend to eat that
  12. Clear out job today, I love these things
  13. Cod in panko breadcrumbs, with skin on chips, mushy peas and lemon/black pepper mayonnaise
  14. Chocolate and ginger cake with custard
  15. All in today, pot roast beef, garlic and thyme roast spuds, creamy mash, carrot and turnip mash, sage yorkie puds bit of veg, gravy made from the pot, I don’t think I’ll need to eat until Wednesday, or maybe I’ll just have a bit of the chocolate and ginger cake that’s in the oven a bit later on
  16. Is that a thing? It sounds very odd but I’d try it
  17. Just simple tonight, tomato and red pepper sauce with a bit of pasta, absolutely delicious
  18. Quick steak and chips, just a cheapo from Aldi, it was spot on
  19. Pan fried sea bass with new spuds and asparagus
  20. Home made chicken and leek pie, with champ and kavolo nero, also with a cream, white wine and stock gravy ( not a sauce)

My missus is all excited as she never got to see them in their day, me not so much, I was into pills and warehouse parties, but I’d definitely go with her this time round
  22. A young buck from yesterday, might of only been a young one but I was blowing out my arse by the time I’d recovered it from a gutter and dragged it back to the farm
  23. Chicken and leek, with rice and broccoli for her harissa chicken and basmati rice for me, first time doing this and it was very tasty
  24. My old man used to do the same just so my brother would eat it, he never knew and would often ask for chicken pie but would never eat rabbit if he could see what it was
  25. When I was a kid we used to eat loads of rabbit, mainly rabbit stew with mashed spuds and I loved it, but after years of gutting them the smell has put me off it and I can’t remember the last time I had it, I might give it another go but it will definitely be getting a 24 hour salt water bath first
