I almost bought one but tried it on the scopes and it would work on the cheap ones on the rimmy’s but when I tried it on the .243 it was foggy and distorted apparently due to the coating on the glass, I’ve tried other ad-ons no none of them work on the vortex scope
-
Without doubt they are my favourite thing to shoot with a shotgun, maybe because they are big and I can hit one or two
-
What it comes down to is I didn’t want to change the scope on the .243, I wanted another rifle for foxing, but the work situation has changed that now
-
I still haven’t got it, I’m trying to build up the courage to part with my money ?
-
I could probably just about afford a push bike, this working for yourself is ok but it’s definitely changed my lifestyle, not so much for my Mrs, it was our 10th wedding anniversary on Saturday and it would appear that my flowers were not enough because she went to Audi and ordered herself a new car ?
-
Not sure yet, but it makes a space for an impulse buy
-
I’ll use anything on them if they are close enough, but if I’m out looking for them I always used 40g #3 mini magnum in the hatstand semi, that was until I sold it yesterday
-
That’s a cracking picture ?
-
All about fit, not so much about make, I shoot a browning 525 30” barrels and it fits me well ( I’m still rubbish with a shotgun though) go to a good gun shop and try everything, you will be spoiled for choice with 4 grand

I hope so, the start of last season was a wash out, it rained for most of November, I remember the first day we did 6 drives in the pouring rain and shot 12 birds, it came good in December and January with some respectable 50/60 bird days, I’d happily not shoot all season until there’s snow on the ground then I’ll shoot every drive because to me pheasant shooting is at its best in the snow ?
-
I know, it doesn’t look any better for next week, I think we’ve had summer
-
You lot are orrible to me ?
-
We fully understand that it’s a farmed for timber and it works well for us because they never clear fell, they take out rows which open up the forestry blocks creating new drives, they always do it in the summer so come November everything has settled down nicely, this is the first time they haven’t shown us the cut plan, so I’ll have to have a word to see what else is coming out and if it will change any of the drives they have definitely stirred the deer up, I’ve never seen that many in that area, I seen 6 roe and 9 fallow including a very nice large fallow buck i also managed to s

Well the birds look a lot more settled this evening, what a difference a day makes, I had a walk over the far side to have a look for a ginger as in the coming weeks this is where the birds will be heading, no sign of a fox but forestry have been in and removed a lot of timber, now I’m not saying this is a bad thing but it would of been nice to be told as this may change the drive, but we’ll see

They really are thick
-
Cheers for that, I’ve not been doing this to long so I’ll happily suck as many eggs as I need to ( go on Ben you know you want to ? )
-
Hopefully they will be ok, they are on something similar to avtec I think it’s avipro, I’ve got the medicated pellets a few normally get gapes so we tend to put them out after a week or so, everyone ( mainly Hugo’s dad ) flaps about them when they first go in but they usually come good, they are up on roost already so if the pens get to paddled up then we’ll probably lift the wire a bit earlier than normal, this is the first time we have had the birds off this supplier and they are a good size
-
Well it’s a different day today, the rain stopped around 5am and now we have clear blue sky, the place is saturated with a forecast of more rain tomorrow, we’ll have to keep an eye on them over the next day or two they may need to go on the medicated
-
God I hope so, they need some sun on their backs, the second pen isn’t as bad as the other but it’s still not good, on the up side I haven’t found any dead ?
-
Oh dear, the birds have been in less than 48 hours and it’s never stopped raining since yesterday afternoon, they are looking a bit sorry for themselves but are still active and taking feed and shelter, the first pen I’ve come to is already starting to get paddled up, if this rain keeps on like it’s ment to then they will have to be out these pens
-
I like the sounds of it all, because when you can hear them you know you are away from people, possibly my favourite it woodcock flighting out to feed, they sound like little flying pigs to me ?
-
No one wants to see badgers wiped out but they should be controlled, over population of any animal is never a good thing ( humans are a prime example of that ) I have some land that I won’t shoot foxes on because they are not there in large numbers and it would be a terrible shame to never see another fox, the badger has become an apex predator and allowing it to breed without control will only have a detrimental effect on the countryside, off the top of my head the only animal I can think of that I’d like to see wiped out is the grey tree rat
-
Do you model their footwear range ?
-
I think I would of let it go, it’s earned it’s freedom I wouldn’t of told anyone, I would of said I necked it in front of another one so it could see what was about to happen to it ?
-
Obviously you ??
