    It looks like it’s gone well, plenty of chubby lambs about, he’s got a field full of black lambs I meant to ask him what’s gone on there, normally he only has the odd one mixed in with the rest

    So I had a walk around the sheep farm as the farmer said the pigeons were hammering a small field of oilseed rape ( I didn’t have the heart to tell him that if they are still on the rape your crop is sh*t ) anyway it doesn’t look good at all, set myself up under a tree and they did the usual, one bang and they all buggered off. I managed 3 for 9 shots ( I tell a lie, it was 8 shots,I shot a bolting rabbit as well ) which is good for me with a shotgun, plenty of deer slots and a bit of fox poop ? so I think I’ll have an early evening walk out over the weekend ?

    It’s been on and off all afternoon here, it’s fairly heavy now, it doesn’t want to lay, I’ve got 3 big foundations to go in tomorrow, it’s April for fu*ks sake

    I went out once with a lad that had one, it was on a summer’s evening, it didn’t pull any foxes in and seemed a bit of a gimmick to me, for me it’s the call that peeks an interest

    Thought I’d give the shoot a go this evening, I arrived a good 45 minutes before my mate and when I pulled in I was greeted by a lovely looking roe buck, having a bit of time to kill I thought I’d have a walk towards the piggeries drive to see if I could see where he went, sure enough he popped out just at the end of the ride, a very smart looking beast.     Well that was chilly ? had a walk around some fields that I haven’t been on for a long time, took the little cz .17 with me and managed to bag 6 rabbits, also found a lot of foxy evidence along the gutter, followed it and found an earth on the boundary, so left it a snack, I might have a go at that in the coming weeks, there’s no live stock around there so no biggie if I don’t get it, it will wait until combine, good fun going after them when they are on the fields cutting the corn

    Corned beef and potato pie 10”x10”x2” deep ? and a couple of pasties with what was left over, that’s my bait sorted for the rest of the week, me and my mate will be sick of eating it by Thursday ?

    Poachers pie for me tonight, venison, ( that me and my mate took a couple of weeks ago) carrots, leeks, shallots, cooked in red wine and beef stock topped with cream mash, think I’ll have it with thyme and garlic roast spuds and whatever veg is in the fridge

    I’ve always struggled with quads, I’m ok if I’m waiting in one spot where I know where it’s coming from, even before the trigger sticks I always just used twin sticks

    Follow on from the chicken and leek pie done with buttered new spuds, carrots, turnip and white cabbage, nice and simple

    I’ve tried the pipe lagging thing and he’s having none of it, I’ve tried him on the trigger stick and he says he can’t get away with them, if he mounted the gun properly in his shoulder he’d be fine
